Gregg Doyel wrote the article that accused Wayne Morgan / ISU of cheating.

Water under the Bridge my man. If you read this article as an ISU fan, you'll understand why I'm now a fan of Gregg Doyel.

It's a language that will ruin some schools, by the way. Big schools -- the schools that don't get swept up in this wave of realignment but instead get swept out the door, into the alley with the rest of the detritus of college sports. Schools like Kansas State and Iowa State and Louisville and Cincinnati and South Florida and Central Florida. Huge schools.

State schools.

Wait a minute ... state schools? Ding-ding-ding. That's a government issue, and it appears the government is starting to catch on. According to a story Sunday in the New York Times, "a congressman from a state with a university that could be harmed by realignment said the government might have no choice but to get involved.

Just because he says it's a government issue and congresspeople will get involved does not make me a fan of the guy who accused ISU of cheating.

Also, he's not defending us at all. Simply saying that it will ruin big schools like us if it goes down the way it might.

:twitcy: How are you not contradicting yourself with this statement? ^^ Hah, unbelievable. Are you Wayne Morgan?

On that note, time for me to hit the sack. Maybe we'll wake up proud members of the ESPN league or wait......maybe it will be the FOX league.......no.........well, wait a minute.....does NBC have a league or just Notre Dame?

Doyel didn't say that the big schools like ISU and Louisville and USF should be taken seriously. He just said we'll be left out.

If you like controversy without facts read his articles. But if you don't like common sense and facts then steer clear of his articles. Guy is a complete idiot.

RT @AP_JeffLatzke: #OU president says he's only focused on #Pac12 or trying to save #Big12 with equal revenue sharing. #hookem#Sooners

Maybe its wishful thinking, but, this sounds true.

I think that really reveals their hand- they want equal revenue sharing more than they want to leave the conference, which especially makes sense in light of the fact that UT isn't going to the PAC-12 without special treatment, and that kind of defeats the purpose of OU leaving.

Boom, here we go.

Alright OU/UT, let's do this thing.

A&M out... BYU, Louisville, Cincinnati, TCU, West Virginia in.

Divisions with ISU/Mizzou/KU/KSU/L'ville/Cincy/WVU and UT/BU/TTU/TCU/OU/OSU/BYU.

9 conference games, play 6 division foes and 3 of the others with no protected rivalries.

For the record... that would be 63 conference games each year. Currently the Big 12 has 45. Heck the Big 10, SEC, ACC, and Pac-12 right now all have 48 conference games a year. Having 63 = huge bump in TV payout.

I'd be shocked if this model doesn't lose WV or Mizzou right away to the SEC, or possibly WV now and Missouri to the Big Ten to pair with ND later.

I think we should go ahead and put in South Florida instead of the likely defector.

A:
ISU
Mizzou (for now)
KU
KSU
L'ville
Cincy
OU (could be up to them, UT and OSU if they want to protect rivalry games)

B:
Texas
Tech
Baylor
TCU
BYU
OSU
South Florida

(How big a joke would the Big Ten and Pac 12 be in hoops compared to this league and and the ACC?)

Interesting tidbit from Andy Katz on SportsCenter this morning. I haven't seen a link, but he said sources from ND had said they will pursue the ACC if they lose a place for their non-football sports (i.e., Big East collapses).

If TCU joined, Texas doesn't want to be in the same conference as TCU so seperating them may be necessary.

ACC? Well that helps ISU attempt to get into the BIG if the Big 12 collapses right? or no?

It doesn't hurt. Depends if ACC would take ND instead of Rutgers, which was another school the B1G was supposedly interested in from the Big East. If the ACC takes ND and Rutgers as 15 & 16 then we'd be in much better shape.

Yeah, every major market team that joins a conference other than the B1G helps us. But I'm a bit of a downer as far as getting into the B1G goes. I kind of feel like it's buying two power ball tickets instead of one to increase our chances.
