At the same time, Texas has nowhere to go either...unless they want to tag along with aTm to the SEC...or go indy. They are stuck here too and the other schools are no longer going to put up with their crap.
How are we going to get to 15,000 posts now?
There is still a lot of drama to come, don't worry. This all isn't totally settled.
And Aggie is still at the bus stop.
Thats the thing... OU can say 'do this or we're leaving' and Texas can now say 'oh yeah, where?'
If OU really was trying to use the PAC as leverage, it just lost a lot of its cards.

If the other 8 work together, Texas will be forced to be a team player.Still not out of the woods yet. This seems to be a good thing on the surface, but only if the remaining 8 members can force Texas into being more of a team player.
Maybe I'm just trying to be too positive but it is what I see as the most likely scenario as for what happened today. If Texas gave in to the demands we learned about today then OU would of just told the PAC 12 "Sorry, not happening now." Or "Thanks for being our leverage." PAC now comes out and says "Yeah, we are fine with 12."That is a possibility.
Is this an option now? The faithful five looks at The a hole four and sYs you guys nearly killed us. We are going BE unless these things that OU wanted don't happen. Tell UT that they are on their own if they don't concede to them. Wild shot but might be best angle now.
What will UT do? Go Indy, that is there last choice. Jump into the USA/MWC super duper conference? Might be a chance to temporarily equalize a little power also.
Wait, didn't the SEC say the same thing like a month ago?
How about predict what Dan Beebe's new role in the big 12 offices will be: no way they buy him out and not get some use out of him, I am thinking more along the lines of reassigned to a consulting role or personal assistant to the new Commish:How are we going to get to 15,000 posts now?

With Big East deciding to remain together tonight and invite new schools, if we assume that Big East schools are not available, who do we add to get back to 10 or to 12?
BYU
Boise State
Air Force
other ideas????
I know Big East schools saying they will remain doesn't mean they won't listen and ultimately join Big 12, but for sake of discussion, if Big East teams are out who would you add to the Big 12?
