The BE needs one more team no matter what. Who do they get? I think they will grab either UCF or ECU, maybe both. I ask, because we might have a fight over teams left.

We first take BYU. I could see us sit for a year or two to get contracts/ tv network started and then go after a couple BEs or an AF and best of the remainders. The Pitt/Cuse thing really whacks us a little. If we go after their teams now, that might topple their conference and we look like the sec.

I do hope academics are considered some. I really don't want a thug school with the image of Miami running around our conference. We already have tech and k state, don't want more.

They can call up an FCS team apparently, after all this worrying about teams like Kansas State and ISU with 100+ years of history not being in a BCS conference, some other team will get jumped up directly from FCS.

Sounds like the PAC 12 couldnt come to equality with Texas. I think OU lost its bargaining chip but I think the Big 12 as a whole can surely threaten Texas to the point of being voted out to come to more equality. I think its 8 on 1 at this point. I expect huge changes.

Sounds though like the BE is playing hardball. Pitt and Cuse won't be going ACC for 2+ more years and they are looking into upping the exit fee. I can't see the Big XII going to 12 for awhile because of this. BYU, yes, to get to 10. At least a couple years before we could get any BE teams and not much other options out there (ND??)

Unless we do what the ACC did regarding huge buy-outs, we are never safe. The answer the PAC gave Texas should have shown them the error of their ways, but Texas never thought rationally, so nothing will be fixed there.

We need a conference structure and network like the big ten. Can't anyone in Texas and oklahoma see that?

I think the PAC's regional model might be one to follow. Depending on who's added, maybe 3 sub-networks for the existing teams, all sharing content with each other for the overall network, but featuring different teams within their distribution areas.

B12N Texas- Reformulated LHN, featuring texas, tech, and baylor
B12N Oklahoma- Based in OKC, featuring OU and Okie State
B12N North- Based in KC, featuring KSU, KU, ISU, MU
and say we grab BigEast teams...
B12N East- Louisville, Cincy, WVU

Revenue doesnt necessarily have to be equal.

Everyone sees that, but if your Texas and you can get away with bending the rules to advance your athletics program and the size of the wad of cash in your pocket, you're gonna run with that rope as long as you can.

I've been wondering why in the he!! I was able to watch the g0ddamn Big10 channel in HD but never a BigXII network. I mean, it makes sense for one of the top football conferences in the nation to have its own network when it's obviously profitable, right?!?

Here's to a fresh start, hopefully. I have to think that if there are football gods, then they have to give the BigXII a break after all the muck we've been drug through not just the past few years, but the past 15.

Cheers Cyclone fans, I think we might be shedding our chains of bondage, finally.

Here is what the NY Times reporter thinks.

Pac-12 Decides to Stay at 12 Teams
http://www.nytimes.com/2011/09/21/s...may-agree-to-remain-in-big-12.html?ref=sports

The Big 12’s maneuvering was monitored with considerable interest by officials of the Big East conference who met Tuesday night in New York. The meeting included the presidents and athletic directors of the seven remaining Big East football colleges, including Texas Christian, which will join next year. The meeting was intended to be an informational session to discuss the league’s future and gauge the commitment of the football colleges.

The Big East seems more likely to try to rebuild itself through the addition of football programs. Navy, Air Force, Temple, Central Florida, East Carolina (which has formally applied for Big East membership), Memphis and Houston are now the most plausible candidates.

You do realize the Big 12's exit fee/buy-out is already larger than the ACC's, right? Most folks were predicting A&M's exit fee would be around $28 million, which I believe is 80-90% of this year and next year's TV fees they would have received.
