CyBer--Don't let anyone discourage you from panic. This is America!!!!

We panic when we decide to panic! Nobody tells us what to do!!!!

Although this Pac-12 thing is making panic difficult. All my panic hopes rest on Mizzou, and they're not going anywhere.

I'm getting my xanax and paper bag ready.

Not exactly sure.
I prefer east. I want schools that are somewhat close, no florida schools. WV is not great academics, so I would pass there. The big 12 is attractive if we get equal sharing, if this happens I think we have a long term conference.

I personally prefer to stay in a different conference than the ten as long as its stable. The big ten is starting to get land locked with their only touching requirement and AAU one also. They are in states that are seeing population declines (outside of PA - not sure there). I especially don't want to go there with the conference crumbling, looks like a mercy move. We will build this AD up over the next 5-10 years and the fan base will keep coming and so will the other big 12 members.

Why would Louisville be ahead of BYU?

I don't know how comparable the marketability of each school is and I know that's a lot of the chatter, tv sets, etc...

But KC to Louisville=508 miles
KC to Provo=1089 miles

From Texas the distances are similar. Just guessing... Also Louisville has a big donor, Papa Johns owner...

My opinion, get them both and maybe Air Force or WVU...

I'm still confident it will happen within the next 10 years.

I think this recent news is great for ISU in the short term....the Big 12 is still on life support in the long term IMO.

Good for you. No one really asked what you thought though. Could some of you have a bigger hard on for ISU being left out in the cold? It's pretty pathetic really. You can't beat us so you root for our conference to explode in order to give you the advantage you need.

I still have a problem seeing this happening. OU may get their share but I still don't see Texas giving up much to anyone else.

Talking expansion is putting the cart ahead of the horse. The members of this conference need to sit down and hammer out a new deal. This should not happen without a new Commissioner and it should definitely not be worked out between OU and Texas only. Why on earth would any school want to be put through what we have just gone through? Why would we?

It's fun, but let's cool it and see if Texas and OU are serious about saving this conference or just talking $%^&. I predict Texas goes for exactly the same structure that we have had so we get the "privilege" of being in their conference.

Mizzou should use their leverage to make sure this gets done now if OU can't do it alone. Now is the time to get equal revenue sharing locked in for all and at least a %age of third tier rights split. With the ACC and Pac-12 rejecting UT they have no other options and there may not be another moment in the future where we will have this much leverage over them again.

Exactly. Got to get that done now while we have the chance.

I say it's time to stop thinking about pillaging another conference. Full force after those independents. BYU & ND. And what's to stop Army & Navy from joining a conference? Add those four and let A&M and Missouri go wherever they want.

Also, with OU's prez openly calling for an equal revenue sharing in the past week, why don't we put that **** to a vote right now and make them put their money where their mouth is? They have voted against it every time in the past. UT can't stand against the other 8 members alone and their only option if they didn't like the consensus would be to go independent, which they obviously do not want to do.

ESPN reported that the BE is indeed interested in the service academies, fwiw.

I would love to have AFA.

If rebeca was accurate, and it appears to be. Then there were a good 6 or 7 in on this. (I assume TT was not apprised or they would probably leak it.) That means that it's not just what OU wants it is the lion's share of the conference. OU just stuck their neck out because they were the ones who could. If this is true, it looks like the Big 8 boys still have some loyalty amongst each other. Baylor is seeming to hook up with us now also.

Things will change for the better, I don't know if all the way, but I think UT has been shown that there are other members of this conference and that the LHN is a toxic card to hold.

They were before Pitt and Syr left, anyway. No telling if they could get them now. Big East is basically waiting to see if the ACC is going to deliver the killing blow and steal Rutgers and UCONN.

Looks like Baylor started "the plan" by not waiving rights. OU waived their rights so they could badmouth BU and make UT chum up with them and make it look like they would leave. Then let UT explore their options and find out that nobody wanted to offer what they currently had. Now the egg is on UT's face. They also had concessions to consider in order to keep a semblence of what they have. Worked pretty well so far.

Sometimes you have to let the jack wagons research the other offers to find out the grass is not greener. Had a customer at the bank who used to threaten to leave (a real pain in the ***). Told him to go ahead, a month or so later he came slumping back into the bank saying nobody wanted him. Knocked him down quite a few pegs. Still didn't listen completely, but had control of that SOB after that.

While maybe not a big coup as far as athletic competition, adding those two the Big XII mix would seem to be a nice PR move.
