So at this point, is it pretty much agreed that the Big 12 will need to pull apart the remainder of the Big East to sustain itself for now?
That would be my read on the situation. The Big East is currently in panic mode....conferences can take advantage of that "aura of fear" to gain new members (Big Ten/PAC did it last year to the Big 12, SEC did it this year to the Big 12)......I see the Big 12 now doing that to the Big East.
I think the schools that would make the most sense would be Louisville, Rutgers, & WVU if the Big 12 could convince them to join.
Another interesting possibility would be to add USF & UCF - solidifying a foothold in the Florida TV markets (though I do wonder if market penetration would be an issue).
I think the most likely scenario would be BYU, Louisville, & WVU.
I haven't read anything leading up to this or even this exact post, I'm just shocked that you are still here.
Completely annoyed by it as well.
