Houston is only a 3 point favorite tomorrow. If they lose, do they get knocked out of the BCS. If so, two Big 12 teams would see pretty reasonable right?

If Houston wins and LSU loses - who gets to play Houston in the NC game? great system this BCS. Houston puts together a dream season and just because they could not un-schedule their non-con and conference games and put together a better schedule not shot at being number one. Stupid stupid system

What about the rest? The Big 12 is certainly best suited for 2 at-large bids unless OSU beats OU and ISU beats KSU.

If Houston loses, they won't be conference champs since Tulsa will play So Miss in the championship game, so they can't play in the BCS.
The real question if they lose is whether or not TCU makes the BCS as a 2 loss team. If I understand it right they would make the BCS if they're ranked in the top 16 because they'll be ranked higher than the Big East champ.

I think Boise would make it before TCU. I don't know how the rules work for non-AQ teams making it in, but Boise is 7th in the BCS right now. So I would say SEC, Big 12, Pac-12 (unless Oregon or Stanford lose again), and either Houston or Boise will get at-large bids.
Yep. Pretty much takes them out of BCS if they lose. I think Big 12 gets 2 unless something weird happens. Two of OSU, OU, and KSU will make it.
Impossible for Boise to make the BCS. TCU is Mtn West conference champs over Boise. Boise can't qualify for the BCS unless they make the top 4.
Wrong. Boise St is not eligible for a non-BCS automatic qualifier bid, but they are 100% eligible for an at-large bid:

According to the BCS, a non-AQ conference champion automatically qualifies if they finish in the top 12, or if they finish in the top 16 ahead of any of the AQ conference champions. That is considered an automatic bid. No more than one non-AQ can receive such an automatic bid.

Puuuulease gramps. If you don't have any strength in schedule, you don't deserve to be in the championship.
If someone develops some "perfect" playoff system + the bowls, I will support it. Until then, just say no to Boise, Houston, etc. in the national championship.
OK...you're right. I'm assuming a bcs bowl isn't going to take a Boise team with a loss as an at large team over someone like Michigan.
The point I was trying to make is that TCU is much more likely to receive an auto bid if Houston loses than Boise since TCU will be conf. champs over Boise.
What if there was a top four team playoff. Then the two losing teams the first round play in a Bowl game and keep the rest of the bowl system the same. Only adds one additional game for the four teams... Not exactly a full playoff, but hey it could be an improvement.
