After watching NE get it handed to them by Game Cocks, decided to review B10 vs. B12 Bowl Game scores, interesting:
Bowl Games: B10 - 9, B12 - 8, Head to Head Games - 2
Current Record after Gator:
A. B10 2W-5L, 3 teams left (MSU currently in 2OT)
B. B12 5W-1L, 2 teams left
C. Head to Head: B12 2 - B10 0

Interesting Fact
A. B10 Bowl Team Reg Season Records: 79-41 - 658% Win %
a. 4 Bowl Teams with 6-6 Reg Season:
b. Dec 4 BCS Rankings;5 Teams Top 25, 1 in Top 10, 2 in Top 15
B. B12 Bowl Team Reg Season Records: 67-29 698% Win %
a. 1 Bowl Team with 6-6 Reg Season Record (And Darn Proud of Them)
b. Dec 4 BCS Rankings; 5 Teams in Top 25, 2 in Top 10, 4 in Top 15

Think my inputs are correct, but interesting review of Conference Strength? Thoughts?

That tells me what we all already know. The B1G is #1 in TV sets, and the #4 ranked football conference.

Big 12 is looking good. Stating the obvious here when I say I wish that ISU would have won. But from a bigger picture, having as poor of a running team as Rutgers from the Big East run all over us as a Big 12 team did not help the perception of our conference's defensive play.

Who cares about that perception? The Big 12 gets plenty of players drafted on the defensive side of the football. The offenses in the Big 12 are very dynamic and difficult to defend.

Lets see how well Wisconsin's defense does against Oregon today.

More Big 12-SEC games would be nice. They are head and shoulders better than any other conferences in the nation.

Pretty much it's a 3-way tie for medicority between the Pac 12, B1G and ACC. Any given year, they are pretty much on the same crappy level.

LOL, as if the Big 12 is some powerhouse conference every year. Remind how good they were last season? Quit acting like the Big 12 is the SEC.

Big 12 is much more like the SEC than it is like the Big Ten, it always will be as long as the Texas and Oklahoma schools are at their core.

The Big 12 has won about 90% of its non conference games on the year.

The Big Ten lost to the MAC, SunBelt, FCS teams, CUSA several times, Service Academies and WAC JUST THIS YEAR. You'd probably look like less of a dumb@$$ if you just STFU.

The big 12 is rated higher than the SEC this year by computers. It was still rated higher than the big 10 last year, in a down year.

Over the last 5 years, the SEC has averaged the best, but the big 12 has been much, much closer to them than the big 10 has been to the big 12 (or SEC for that matter). Compared to the big 10, the big 12 might as well be the SEC.

And the big 12 is on the rise, while the Big 10 has been on the decline (and the big 10 will continue to decline due to demographic factors completely out of the big 10's control)

I'm not making the argument that the B12 is better than the SEC. For the past 6-7 years they have separated themselves from the other league. However, this year, we really don't know who the best league is. K-State/Arkansas might tell us something. There is a big drop off after the B12 though.

Okie State/LSU would have been a toss up, IMO. Remember Arkansas barely beat A&M, who finished 6-6 and had a rough year in the B12.

I think if you lined up the top 10 teams from the SEC vs the B12, you would have a pretty good series.

Over the past 10 years I would probably say:

SEC, B12, Pac 10, B1G, ACC, Big East would be my order. Prior to 2001, the Big 8/12 was clearly the best conference for over a decade.

ITS ONE SEASON. The SEC has won the last, what, 6 NCS? The Big 12 is nowhere close to being as good as the SEC. But yeah, the Big 12 is a whole lot like the SEC, just look how well they've done vs them in the Cotton Bowl(one of the few tough bowl games the Big 12 plays in) the past 10 years and in NC games. Not any better than the Big 10.

I'm not the dumb@ss trying to compare the Big 10 to the SEC, unlike you, who claims the Big 12 is "SEC quality" football. LOL.

It's amazing how poor the vaunted B1G defenses look when they play a team that has an offensive team with a pulse (see basically every B1G bowl game this year).

The SEC is very top heavy. They have a couple great teams and a bunch of crappy ones. The top of the SEC might be great, but the middle of the SEC is usually marginal at best and they always have some really, really, really bad bottom dwellers. One or two great teams does not make a great conference.

I'm not sure Penn State's offense would have got them bowl eligible in the Big 12, SEC or even Pac Ten. They'd have been 6-6 at best in a real conference trying to win with no offensive threat.

As bad as JB and Steele were in our bowl, I'd take either of them throwing the ball in a heartbeat over Bolden. How a school like PSU ended up with an arm like that at QB blows my mind.

And all this tells you is about the top couple teams in each conference. Top to bottom, the big 12 is pretty close to the SEC (ahead this year in the sagarin ratings, slightly behind in years past) but the big 10 is well, well below. The SEC is more top-heavy while the big 12 goes deeper (down to everyone but KU, where there's a huge dropoff)

The real question is who outside of 1-3 teams in the SEC is really good.... heck they even have 2 more members than the XII does.

Id much rather have XII- SEC matchups than B1G- SEC matchups. It just makes these New Years Day bowls kind of boring.

I think they make a bowl in the B12, but certainly don't go 9-3 (6-2 in conference) like they do in the B1G. The Leaders division was equally as bad as the B12 North was in 2005.

I would put PSU/ISU as a pickem at a neutral site.

Look at the Insight Bowl throughout the years. Big 12 owns the B1G's ***.

Plus this is about this year. Not other years.

The Big 12 is currently 5-8 in the Cotton bowl against SEC teams which isn't completely horrible.
