Here's a tweet directly from Pollard a couple hours ago: @IASTATEAD: At Big 12 meetings in Phoenix. *Best I have felt about the Big 12 in my seven years. *Great things on the horizon for the Cyclones and Big12

Despite my distaste for his Hokeye ties Bolwsby has been a very high profiule figure in college atheltics. He has been successful at both Stanford and IA city.

For those that bag on him for hiring Alford I'll remind you that Pollard is a great AD despite hiring Cale and Chizzle.

And he has no Big XII ties. I did not want to see somebody from another Big XII school.

On the surface you gotta hate a UofI AD leading our conference. But if you look at it, this guy is an Iowa guy, state of Iowa first. He has done really good things in his career. And you know he's not afraid to push the limits. If you want a Big XII guy that is conservative I hear Beebe is still looking.

Time will tell, but I think this will be good for ISU.

I think it is a very good choice!
I really don't think it's a bad choice either. He is kind of a lump as a personality but I think he is a pretty good administrator.

As for any bias against ISU, please. The man strikes me as being very professional.

I think so too. This is his career, Iowa was not.

Where they love the governor
Bowlsby's seen how a commish like Delaney works first hand. Could be a good thing to have somebody with a pair to lead the way (if indeed he has said pair).

To the people worried about his Hawkeye connections and how he is going to bag on the Cyclones: Surely you can't be serious... I'm sure the first freaking thing on his mind is how much he hates ISU and wants to shut down the University or put ISU athletics in the MAC.

If anything this is really good for ISU. This guy is an Iowa native.

Who cares about his old Iowa job?
The man did his job effectively at each level, worked professionally, and earned his way into a nice plum job.

Congrats to him. That's how things are supposed to work, whether he worked at Iowa or not.
