JP said the two teams will cross the field to their side. The sides stay the same, all that changes is the side the teams enter from.
Sounds awkward and do not see that working out very well.

Was the explanation on the need for a tunnel?
Did they say whether or not it will connect to the practice facility or if they will walk outside from the FOF to the tunnel to the field? The most recent rendering I saw (top down view) made it seem like it would be outside.

it was like this for many years early on and worked out fine back then.Sounds awkward and do not see that working out very well.
sorry -- did not ask thisDid they say whether or not it will connect to the practice facility or if they will walk outside from the FOF to the tunnel to the field? The most recent rendering I saw (top down view) made it seem like it would be outside.
Tornado shelter. Some sort of government regulation.
probably right unless they ramp up over itI'm guessing it won't be connected. If it was connected, you would need a way for people to get over or under the tunnel to be able to still walk around the stadium.
Notre Dame shares the same tunnel as their opponent. This would be more awkward but its always been this way so it really isn't awkward at all.Sounds awkward and do not see that working out very well.

Its for the opposing fans to take cover in after we warn them in our entrance video. Not sure how that will work with our team coming out at the same time.
The Kansas basketball team goes through the concourse to get from the court to the locker room. God forbid people have to hold up for a minute as the team crosses the outer sidewalk around Jack Trice, in fact, it'll be an even better way for kids and fans to get closer access to the players.
we have been entering in the middle for years now

Yes but the visitors still came out the west side so there still wasn't any cross over. Now the visitors will come out the east side and cross over.
I don't think it will be too much of a problem. The visitors are almost always completely on the field before the home team comes out anyway. There shouldn't be any players running into each other.
