Huge is an overstatement, but that is the team he's cheered for. He's an "A" student who supposedly wants to study engineering.

This kid reminds me so much of myself at the same age.

Well, without the offers to become a Division I QB, at least...

He's got great wheels, but throws off of his front foot most of the time and has a funky side-arm delivery at times. He keeps the ball way too far out when running before the LOS. He's young, so he could be a good project for a QB coach with patience. It will be fun to see what he does this fall after attending some camps. Hopefully he'll gain some poise in the pocket to go along with his scrambling ability.

Union as in Union- the class 3A state champs.

And maybe Iowa's offer has something to do with Davis. With KOK as OC, I would say they anticipate him playing WR/S. now I'm not so sure.

Looking at his speed I think he'd do great on D. Either CB or S.

Rivals is lagging a bit. All offered after camps this year.

In the article written yesterday it lists Iowa as his first and only offer. Doesnt even show he camped at Wisconsin.

Anyway, it seems you know this kid well. Which position do you project him at in college?

The Iowa State, Minnesota and Wisconsin ones were all verbal offers at their camp as they were before July 1st. Iowa's was too, but they followed up with a formal written one this week.

I think he'll start at QB, but the fact that he can play WR probably makes teams want to take a bigger chance with him. He long jumped 21 feet as a freshman, injured as a soph. I see him on the offensive side of the ball.

Hate to beat a dead horse here but moderators from both sites I subscribe to interviewed Scheel yesterday and both moderators have told me that Iowa is his only offer at this point.

Which is still impressive considering hes only a junior to be.

Good point, Clarky! Heaven forbid that someone who actually knows the kid know more than a mod on an internet site you pay money for! :wideeyed:

Hate to beat a dead horse here but the post creator has the username LPC, which I am going out on a limb here and guessing that stands for La Porte City, which is one half of the schools that make up Union School district. Maybe, just maybe this poster actually has a relationship with the athlete and has some inside information.

I would love to snag him. I'm from La Porte City and the buzz around him got very strong last year.....when their starting QB went down with an injury, he stepped in and they haven't looked back yet.

on a side note, the coach is former Buena Vista coach...he's really turned Union High into a factory for good players, starting them young and having a very good training program.

I saw yesterday he was offered by Iowa and his fb blew up....hope he doesn't accept that offer. :)

I think you also have to give Hubbard a lot of credit for turning that program around. I think he laid the foundation for Hadecheks success.

Back on topic, he would fit well into our system and is definately D1 talent.
