Hate to beat a dead horse here but the post creator has the username LPC, which I am going out on a limb here and guessing that stands for La Porte City, which is one half of the schools that make up Union School district. Maybe, just maybe this poster actually has a relationship with the athlete and has some inside information.

Rivals and 247sports both did interviews with Scheel yesterday. He states in both interviews that Iowa is his ONLY offer.

I am well aware that LPC pry knows the kid. Maybe a teammate, maybe a parent. Thats why I asked him which postion he thinks Scheel will play.

It would be pretty outstanding for a small school Iowa kid to have ISU, Minny, Iowa and WISKY offers after his sophomore year.

Pretty strange that he would say in 2 interviews yesterday that Iowa is his only offer if he had 3 other offers.

Wisconsin board doesnt list him with an offer. Minnesota board doesnt list him with an offer. This thread is the first Ive seen it on CF.

Due to this I dont believe Scheel(as of today) has a committable offer from any team but Iowa. Many will follow in the next 2 years.

Hopefully he remembers who offered him first on signing day.

:skeptical:

Hopefully he does what he wants and is best for him, like perhaps playing at qb in a system that more fits his style of play

The Iowa State, Minnesota and Wisconsin ones were all verbal offers at their camp as they were before July 1st. Iowa's was too, but they followed up with a formal written one this week.

Hate to beat a dead horse here but moderators from both sites I subscribe to interviewed Scheel yesterday and both moderators have told me that Iowa is his only offer at this point.

Which is still impressive considering hes only a junior to be.

I'd ask for a refund on that subscription this month.

You look at that and say, "Why would he not say he has these other offers?"
I look at it and say, " Why would he tell about two unofficial offers?"

Look you obviously love you some inside sports websites that give you up to the day information. Maybe it is the Iowan in me that says, I trust the locals more.

In neither of the interviews did he even say he camped at Wisconsin this summer. He lists camping at Iowa, ISU, Minny, and UNI in both.

Why would you say your pumped for your first offer when its actually your 4th BCS offer?

Im from small town Iowa. Last year we had a kid that was a pretty good athlete at the catholic school in town. If you asked 20 people at the game who his college choices were you would get 20 people listing off your typical midwest D1 schools. Fact is he was offered perferred walkon at ISU and scholarship at USD. You could ask my uncle to this day and he will say the kid had offers from everyone.

Just because a poster with an acroynm for a name of a school where this kid is from states offers doesnt make it fact. My uncle could start an acct too.

I have no doubt he will get all 4 schools to offer but to say Wisconsin offered a full ride to Jay Scheel from La Porte City, Iowa after his sophomore yr after not even camping there is a stretch.

Thats because decent athletes look really good when they are playing in a small pond.

I am assuming you are projecting him at WR?

If not, I don't see how you can bet money on him playing at Iowa.

They will promise him a shot at playing QB, while all along knowing they want to move him to WR. Then he can transfer after a year or two when the truth comes out like Derby did. They never planned on Derby being a QB, but I bet that's not what they told him.

I think I am from the small town you speak of and this story is completely true. Different people would tell you a different story. I only asked relatives of the recruit as I knew I would get straight answers from them.

If the kid says Iowa is his first offer than it is his first offer. I don't really know why people are trying to argue it is not except for the simple fact that it is Iowa. I have never heard of super secret offers where a kid can't talk about it so Ill take him at his word.
