He's tweeting to his friends instead of texting everyone individually. I think some of you are confused on what twitter is actually for.

It's actual intent is not to allow people with voyeuristic tendency to decode the secrets of strangers lives.

I might be wrong, but I am pretty sure it's to communicate with other friends.

Huh? If one's intent isn't to have stragners read one's comments, then why post those comments using a medium that permits and actually encourages that precise thing to happen?

It sounds like you are confused. His Twitter feed is public so he is well aware that more than just his friends are reading it.

Why is anyone getting worked up over it? Personally, I find it creepy that these threads even get started. Just because his twitter is public doesn't mean he should be criticized for using it, or be followed by random weirdos with nothing better to do than stalk college students on the internet.

Any updates from voyaguers? How about from CW? The mystery deepens. This would be a good mailbag question.

I think I would be more concerned about the grown men hanging all over what a barely 18 year old kid is putting on Twitter.

Twitter is designed for random followers unless the user restricts it. Can't really complain when he's doing exactly what it's designed for.

True...which is probably why barely 18 year olds shouldn't be broadcasting their personal issues over a public twitter feed. Nobody wins...

I don't know what the fuss is. He is using twitter how it was designed.

The people following him are also using it how it's designed also. They aren't following him home and digging through his mail. They click the follow button. They read what he publicly posts. If someone started a blog to post their thoughts you wouldn't call people who read the blog weirdos. Twitter is just another medium to publicly broadcast something.

I know what twitter is. Doesn't mean you have to be a creeper. That is your choice.

I love every thread about someones twitter account always turns into one poster being creeped out by another poster following said players twitter account. Ten years ago this would be considered "creepy" but in this day in age, using it for information is not creepy. Using to troll pictures of underage kids or something like that is creepy.
Ah, the age we live in these days.

I don't follow him but if I did I wouldn't be a creeper. I'd be a twitter user.

Go to the massive recruiting thread. Twitter generates the bulk of info. for that thread.

No need to for me to be a twitter creeper. There are 30 other CF twitter creepers that do the work for me and then post it in the recruiting thread 5 seconds later.

I like CF twitter creepers

Anyone check the practiced videos to see if he's in any if them recently? Or if you really want to know just tweet him and and ask.

Yup, these threads make my skin crawl. Just because it can be viewed by the public doesn't mean it is intended to be viewed and obsessed over by people who have never met the guy. It's just like facebook, yes it's semi-public and yes if you are friends with the athletes you can view what they post, but no it's not appropriate to start threads about how they are having a bad Monday.

I have to disagree. They (and anyone else using using twitter or facebook) know and understand that anything and everything you put out there is 100% public and and ramifications that come from what you say are just an accepted consequence. If you don't know and understand that it's your fault not the people receiving your messages. There are ways to lock it down so only people you approve can view your messages.

This has been an ongoing debate in the social media realm. I'm not saying you are showing your age but in a way you are. People older than say 30-40 naturally assume everything is private unless you make it public. Almost every person under those ages and especially those who use social media assume everything is public unless you make it private.

Is it slightly creepy? Yes. Is it an okay and accepted practice and way to gain info? 100%
