On bridges, it could be a speed trap. Were there also cops parked on nearby on ramps? I've seen them pull that trick between Ames and Des Moines before and been busted by one.

We met the president's buses and escorts going on I-35 near Ankeny before 7pm. There had to be nearly 100 vehicles between all the buses, state patrol, support vehicles, ambulances, etc. All politics aside, it is really amazing all of the support and security needed to move the president around.

keep in mind that is just the security that you can see. there is a no fly zone within 10 miles of him up to 17,999 feet and a restricted flight zone from 10-30 miles up to 17,999 feet.

I would say it is warranted just think of all the groups that would claim it not to mention any war that could come from it.

I would be interested on finding out how much is funded by tax payer dollars to campaign dollars.

THe most important man in the world? Ya Id say its warranted. Its not necessarily the man, its what it stands for. They get him and that shows their power. I really had to not use certain words in that post in fear of them getting caught by some officials haha.

I was thinking the same thing. It would be very easy to describe how some idiot would target the main road the leader of the free world would travel on.

Guarding every overpass makes sense and it isn't really costing the government that much money. Plenty of government officials that aren't very high have security and drivers.
