18 days away and still no network? Is it too late to move the game to later in the day and away from the awful 11am start?

Here here!!! on the switch to the later start time. Who are we with these stupid 11 am starts anyways? The Hawkeyes? Them and the Big 10 can keep all those early start times for all I care. Talk about a buzz kill for tailgating.

Which amazes me because there are not many games that are as equally matched to start the season.

The 11:00 time is set. It will be on TV. The only question is which network (FX or FSN).

11am...love it...tailgate after the game as well as before...perfect.

You and I obviously can't be friends then ;-). While tailgating after the game is decent, it never matches the pregame tailgating, especially if we come out with a loss (which we WON"T right?). Also, NOTHING replaces the sleep I'm going to miss getting up that early. I hate early mornings!!!!!!!

Good luck with your tailgate afterwards though. Personally, I'll be watching the Jones/Henderson UFC fight instead.

Tried it. Still dead tired. I'm not a morning person period even if I go to bed at 7 pm. I'm 27 years old and I still hate my life every day I have to get up a 6:30 am for work. Life is rough.

Morning games have no business being played at Jack Trice Stadium. Ever.
They need to go the way of the Dodo bird.

TV is usually set about 10 days before the game right?

Its usually set 2 Mondays before each conference game, and ABC has a few options each year to utilize a 6-day pick where the games are picked the Sunday before each game. However, there are always a handful of conference games that are determined months before the season starts (so far only 1) and non-conference game times/TV are usually determined months before the season starts as well. The non-conference game times were announced very late this year, and obviously TV is even more late.

I don't understand how they don't know which network yet.

Fox has committed to carrying it. Since Comcast Sports Network is no longer simulcasting FSN games there is most likely some debate on whether or not it can be seen throughout Iowa. So at this point it's a debate between FSN or the FX Game of the Week.

Directv added FSMidwest to their regular package after CCSN stopped simulcasting so I'll take that as a win. Hated when games wouldn't be on because of Blackhawk hockey pre-game or some other crap.

Thought FSN was the recent decision. Well, 20 Aug is fast approaching, to get the answer.

Really? I've got directv at work where we only get Comcast Sportsnet Chicago with our package, which I've usually watched many of the Fox Sports ISU football games on in the past. It has usually worked just fine. However, are you saying that all the FSN ISU football games will no longer be on the Comcast channels anymore? Also, are you saying we now with Directv get FSMidwest due to this, because I just tested to see if I now have FSMidwest now (which I didn't in the past) and I still don't? Does it have to do with the fact that I live in Eastern Iowa? If the no ISU games on Comcast in the future is the case, then I'd be screwed or would have to upgrade to the sports package.

That alleviates some of the problem. Unfortunately Mediacom in Centra/Eastern Iowa carries CSN Chicago. I have to imagine CSN will come to their senses at some point soon.
