Some typical Iowa fan d-bag from Chicago (sideways, flat bill hat and all) started talking smack to one of the ISU girls in our group.

Iowa d-bag: Go State! Just kidding, they suck ****.
Random Iowa fan who over hears this: And so do you too a-hole!

Iowa on Iowa hate is a special thing.

Great Post my friend....Years and I do mean Years ago when I was a helluva lot younger I was in Jack Trice when we were playing Colorado and some A Hole ISU fan keep doing the same verbal crap to a buff fan sitting close to me and when I had enough I just said..."Keep that up A Hole and Im gonna knock your A** out".....Amazingly the guy shut up.

I have been to a ton of road games and 98% of the fans I have encountered were nice people while the other two percent are just Jerks looking for something missing in their lives....

The best has been reading through all the pathetic posts on Facebook by my Hawk friends that can't accept it yet several of them constantly talk smack leading up to this game every year and whenever ISU loses. This may be the best one so far:

Congrats to Iowa state on their National Championship! Wait, what? It's a week 2 win? My bad... And regardless of the outcome of any sporting event, the state nickname is the Hawkeye State.

And the best response back by a Cyclone fan:

I don't know what Cyclone fan hurt you in the past, but I find it hard to feel sorry for you until you've lost 15 in a row... Buck up cowgirl, you're still leading the series something like 39-21.

And even after several responses she still won't give it up:

no one is saying that Iowa is a good team this year, thus the mocking of the over celebrating. It's one thing to celebrate knocking off Ok State last year; it's another the memorialize a 3 point victory in an ugly game over a mediocre team. If you think ISU is a team on the rise, at some point you need to act like you've won a game before.

The Iowa athletic dept also would not have spent money to purchase ads on an electronic billboard to show the score.

You should kindly inform them that Iowa was the "Hawkeye State" before the UofI ever started using it as a nickname. But then again, facts and Hawkeye fans don't mix.

I said to the guy behind me after the game , now we will have to hear all week how many conference champs do the Cyclones have, it wasn't 15 seconds later a Hawk walked past the ISU section, and did not disappoint, he went off on the conference thing and I looked right at him and said to the guy behind me loud enough to make sure the hawk could hear, I was wrong it took 15 seconds, the Hawk looked at me like he was lost.

I was in Section 107 (and am completely sunburnt btw) and the Hawk fans honestly started out really nice. There were good jokes back handed compliments (which didn't bother me). However, this all changed with about 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter. ISU forced another 3 and out and I simply yelled, "That-a-way boys! Let's go Clones!" Guy in front me says, "You'd better shut the #%$ up right now, son." This is the same guy that wished my brother and I best of luck to start the game. I let it slide, until he went absolutely nuts after Iowa got the INT in the red zone and started driving in field goal range. When Knott tipped the ball up in the air we all started yelling "Two in a row!!!!!!!!!" Knott catches the INT and the guy turns redder than my sunburn. I then asked quite loudly what happened to the statement that Northern Illinois would be "the best defense they face all year." Also made statements like, "Lenz sure does look good holding that trophy" and "Kinnick sure isn't as loud as advertised" (which it honestly wasn't at all. He turned to his friend and said, "I can't believe we have to play this game."

Feel that boys? We got our selves a program on the rise. See you next Saturday night!

I heard a lot of great quotes today from Hawk fans...While I was tailgating, A Hawk fan came up to me and said, "Hey, I heard your campus is full of F******!..He must not be real aware to the high level of diversity in Iowa City..
My favorite was when they called holding on the "kickers" as in the kicking team and delusional Hoks started screaming "The Kicker can't be holding! etc, etc," or "When the refs know they made a bad call, they never show the replay, that's nothings being replayed"

Iowa City was a lot of fun

After every pass break up by an opposing DB, there is supposed to be a Pass Interference, even if the receiver and db get to the ball at the same time....Also everytime, the punter is ran in to, the punter is supposedly cheating....

A lady at church this morning was sure that if the refs weren't so one sided that Iowa would have won. And she couldn't understand why Vandenburg was playing on both sides of the ball? And why does he only pass it for 5 yards a play!? She also thought that Vandenburg was calling the plays..

Group of annoying hawkfans near us, group of four: 60 something grandfather, 30 something father and mother with 8 year old grandson. Classy hawkfan father booed continuously for 3 minutes when ISU took the field before the game. Booing not a big deal, but to carry it on for an extra two and a half minutes was a bit excessive while teaching your son proper manners and good sportsmanship. Right before kickoff overheard them say, "It's not as big as it seems on tv" referring to being at Kinnick in person. If I was quicker I should have turned as asked what year he graduated from UI, already knowing the answer...

At halftime hawkfan father talked to his wife, "Wonder if I need my ticket stub to get back in, I guess there are no smoking areas in the stadium."

After the flag for roughing the punter, hawkfan father screams "this isn't acting class!!" "We got drama class going on here today at Kinnick stadium!" "These must be Big 12 refs!", hawkfan wife then says "Is that legal to have Big12 refs at Kinnick?!"

Mid way through the 3rd quarter hawkfan father starts to crack, "this is the worse hawk team I've ever seen!" "How are we losing to the clowns!" "I can't believe we suck so bad! We're not going to win a game this year!" "If we're losing the clowns we shouldn't be aloud to play in the Big10."

After Iowa runs the ball for the 10 time in a row sucking the life out of the crowd, hawkfan father yells, "See! See! They're daring us to pass, their safeties are up in the box." At that point I asked my hawkfan friend I was attending the game with, loud enough so hawkfan father can hear, "Hey! Hey, do you have Kirk's phone number?? I think this guy's got a few pointers he'd like to give to Kirk." I got no response, he was too belligerence to hear others over his own booing and critical comments.

I wish Ben Bruns was up there so he could point out a few sterotypical hawkfan characteristics, he is truly the best.

The game was awesome yesterday. Got to see my Cyclones win, witness first hand the state turn a little more cardinal and gold under the influence of Paul Rhoads. Hawkfan comments where icing on the cake, especially when I could see my hawkfan friends shaking their heads, being confronted by the stereotypes firsthand forced to concede they are true.

Go Cyclones!

This chick came up to us in the student section and kept yelling get the **** out of student section for ten minutes straight, calling us worthless and pathetic. Best part was she was hideous and had a shirt that said ISU girls are ugly. My friend and I kindly tell her how big of a contradiction her shirt was.

She didnt come back.

I haven't noticed anybody else mention yet, but my brother-in-law who is a Hawkeye fan who is supportive of the Cyclones said that his low point of the day was "when the Halkeye students were flipping off the band. Yes, the band. Classless."

I wasn't at the game, since I had a wedding to attend. I went to a bar right after the ceremony (me in my red shirt and gold tie, my friend in a black and gold dress). The bar was in SE Iowa, so there were about 5 Cyclone fans in attendance. After the game, the waitress said "I know you're a customer and all, but **** you". I wasn't even hootin OR hollerin (much) the entire time, I swear!

Didn't know which thread to put this in, so I am putting it here.

Anybody else find this picture as funny as I do??

I would love a better quality version (not a digital picture of my TV) of this if anyone has the technical know-how.

I saw that on tv and I have to say it made me very uncomfortable to look at him. Not because he is a Hawk fan, but because there is something wrong with him. I cant quite put a finger on it, but I dont like his face.
