Good for dish. I don't like how the BTN requires their channel to be on the basic package rather than the sports pack like the NFL network. The sooner we get to ala carte programming the better. Let the customers decide if the channels are worth what is being charged.

I wish you could get Dish/cable/someone to offer channels al la carte (pay for only the channels you want). I'm not going to pay the rates they want for TV I don't want (or in the case of the BTN, organizations I don't want to support). Until a time that they do, I'll remain part of the cord cutters. No cable. No satellite.

At least they kept it for last week so we could see ISU beat the hoks...and hear the B1G homer commentators call the game

This was my response on that forum:Big Ten is inferior football. They are asking for way too much money for an inferior product. They have an inflated opinion of the quality of their product. I am 100% behind dish network in this.

Good job Dish. I never touch the channel apart from one game, it shouldn't be a basic network anyways.

Sadly ala carte would probably end up costing the consumer more.

Good idea, I'll do that. We have Dish in our motorhome that we pay for month-to-month only while we are traveling.

PS: Done.

Do they still carry Comedy Central? No loss then.

Um... LOL, what??? Are you calling BTN the Comedy Central? If so, that's kinda funny. But if you're simply asking if Dish still carries Comedy Central then your post is a little out of place.

I said it last week: if they weren't going to cave to AMC and their mega hit shows with millions of viewers, there was no way on god's green earth they were going to cave to BTN and their thousands of viewers.

I would love a la carte channels too, but its got to be tough for the providers to cover their fixed costs if the average bill is lower. Still, you think they could come up with a formula of some kind where they could make it work.
