Ahh. Didn't make the connection to the volleyball game. How classy of them to make their daughter a prop for a jab at the Cyclones. It's like an obsession, isn't it? Like the hok fan yesterday who saw my Cyclone gear as he was pulling out of a parking spot in his big black hok truck, rolled down his window to say "don't tempt me."
Not from the stands but my girlfriend made her facebook status something to the effect of, "Excited for tailgating! Go Cyclones!" Her cousin immediately commented with, "Go Hawks!". My girlfriend informed her that that game was last week, and we won. Her cousin actually had no idea.
When Standard was in late in the game, he took off on a decent run, some guy up behind me yelled "GO! (slight pause) Sucker!" Lots of chuckles wrt not knowing who was in at that point given all the backups playing.
Also, there were a LOT of overserved individuals yesterday. Didn't see any puking myself but wife and kids did.

Saw a group of "WIU" fans. Hawk shirts underneath their WIU shirts. Weird?!? I guess some hawk fans like to travel to their rivals games and pay for a ticket just to cheer against them.

You'll have that with a 7 o'clock game. That's a lot of time for people to drink before the game.
I was not at the game last night but watched it on cyclones.tv and right after the Arceo field goal they showed a guy who's shirt read 'ISU is THE University of Iowa' thought that that was pretty funny...
I saw a couple of students with those old school ISU shirts with the star dotting the I. Those were popular back when I was in school. Prompted some fond memories.

Just after the interception in the 3rd quarter, my buddies and I started discussing how the pass was right on the money if Gary hadn't gotten his hands in there. This kid behind us then tells me how it was a terrible pass and he never should have thrown it. He then continued his little rant so I just turned around.
A little later he yells, "Put in Christensen!" -- Meant Richardson.

I was discussing the leg whip w/ my buddy. The guy behind us explained to his girlfriend that "A leg whip is a form of holding." My buddy just hit me to make sure I heard it.
He was explaining it to his girlfriend. Prolly took him 20 minutes to get her to understand holding while watching an NFL game at home, so since he was really trying to watch this one...it's just like holding, hon.

Not even sure you need the sarcasm pirate. Probably more truth to it than we know.
I took my 7 yr old daughter to her first ISU football game and she loved it but I am sure the people sitting around us got some good comments. One point when everyone was yelling "Go Defense!" she asked where we wanted them to go.
Walked into bar after game with husband and another couple Promptly a Hawk fan (girl) Drunk , came up to us and pointed at all of our Cyclone gear and said I disagree ,I do not like that team ...I informed her we could care less and We LOVED the Cyclones . She told me We won today how bout you? I laughed and said Yea we won 37-3 .You won by like 10 against UNI . She said we are better than you ..again laughed and informed her we played last week and We Won that too. She got mad and said SO We won today:twitcy:

Anyone watching on cyclones.tv see the guy with the "Balls of Steele Tour" on the back of his shirt, with the schedule of games underneath? I thought that was AWESOME. If you're on here, come out now and let me rep you!
