Yeah our defense is being reactive instead of proactive. They probably got scared during practice during the week because they were told to "not give up the big play"
We are in DEEP trouble now.
WV is getting 10 yds a crack on the ground against now. Our D is terrible today.
Offensively, Richardson is looking like a scared RS freshman today so far. He's afraid to let it loose and is running on most passing plays. Should have had 2 picks already too. I hope he can turn it around.
But if the D doesn't step up, it won't matter.

Exactly what was needed going into the break. Positive momentum...make some adjustments and come out ready after half

We're back in it now. Defense needs to come out more aggresive in the 2nd half, and I think Sam Richardson should be able to see better the next half after the sun goes down. He's been trying to find open receivers while staring into the sun this 2nd quarter.

Excellent result for the half all things considered. D needs to continue to get saltier. Hopefully the offense has settled in too.
Not sure what we can do on defense. Anytime they need a play, they can pick on Stokes or Gabe, and Broom and George are no Knott in fighting off blocks.
I have a question regarding our safeties...Where is Jared Brackens? And why is he not starting of Schaeffer? Schaeffer is getting worked over by WVU and has missed a ton of tackles. The staff obviously though enough of Brackens to not redshirt him last year, so it's a bit puzzling to see Schaeffer instead.
I hope Wally B has some good adjustments to install at half time. And let's not have any zone-read TFLs in the second half. Please. Digging your freshman QB in a hole all the time with 2nd and 13 and 3rd and 10s is not going to end well.
