This is Pig The Wonder Cat. He's about 14 now, got him just after his eyes were open and his mama met an unfortunate demise. Bottle fed him for what seemed like an eternity. He's blind in one eye. Cantankerous. Big personality. My constant companion. Only the fireplace can be a bigger draw than my lap or beside me in bed. (Fireplace is right beside the Christmas tree, so this is his little Holiday Heat Cave)

Lets see your pets.

I never had an animal in my life until I turned 30 years old. The wife said that since we weren't going to have kids we'd get a cat.

Two border collies for me. Both rescue dogs. Black one is Lacey and brown is Ginger. Ginger went blind about a year and a half ago due to some rare condition where her body doesn't burn fats properly and it was crystalizing in her organs and eyes. Several thousand in pet bills to figure that out and a low fat diet for the rest of her life. Healthy as an ox and still plays a great game of fetch with a tennis ball in the backyard. Didn't slow her down a bit.

my dog, corona, looks almost exactly like the one on the left. good times

Here's Bella. We adopted her last Saturday from the ARL through PetSmart in Ankeny:

This is Branson, the cat. Yep, we found him abandoned and homeless and near death living under a bench in front of a curio shop in Branson, MO. I talked to the shop owner and she said that she had five cats of her own so she was looking for someone to take the little tyke. Just then my wife and granddaughter walked out of the shop and it was all over. We took him home, nursed him back to life (after a big vet bill) and I named him Branson. He likes to play Cycloneopoly and we usually let him win.

I love that she doesn't shed. She's as cute as can be and everyone in the building knows and loves her. She's not the brightest bulb in the string; I always say, "She gets by on her looks."

Edit: And her birthday is April Fools Day which is SOOOOooooo appropriate.
