14-10 Laingsburg over Beecher after 1st qtr

Report from Ryan Slocum on ABC 12 is that Morris is sick (but he is playing).

21-19 Beecher at the half. Morris has 10.

Morris broke a tie with a fastbreak dunk ~ 10 ticks left in the 2nd qtr. It sounds like from the MLive guys that Beecher started pretty lethargic, but are waking up. Laingsburg however has been good on defense.

Ya, I feel like Monte and Thomas will give us Niang-caliber performance by the end of next year. That will set up a pretty darn nice base for 2014-15.

We'll probably take a few lumps next year, but I think by the tail end of the B12 season, we'll be getting giddy about the future.

I'm already giddy about the future (starting with tomorrow).

Most experts said we couldn't replace Royce, Allen and Scotty........

knotted at 28 at the end of 3.

Morris left for a portion of the qtr and went back to the locker room. Apparently quite sick - fluish. Was back in at the end of the qtr though...

Beecher wins 40 - 39. Back-to-back State Championships for Beecher/ Morris. That's pretty neat. Morris had 16 pts

The story of the game will be Morris' sickness, and his last possession shot-block to seal the game.

I'll post highlights, the game replay and other game articles when I find them.

I went back and watched quite a bit of Monte Morris' previous game that someone had posted a link to, and I really like him a lot as a player. I think he is the real deal. He is going to be an awesome Cyclone.

My only question about him is his size. He looks awfully skinny. And maybe this won't be a problem for him, I don't know? But if SDW was too skinny, then Morris could be as well?

Although, I think SDW would have played this year if we needed him. Problem wasn't so much that he was skinny as it was that he wasn't going to see the floor ahead of Babb, Clyburn, McGee, etc.

The Cyclone Fanatic scholarship breakdown has Edozie red-shirting in the 13-14 season, a RS Jr the 14-15 season, and a RS Sr the 15-16 season. Was it announced that he is going to red shirt or am I missing something here?

I thought someone said he would be a sophomore next season. I have no idea though.
