Yeah he would have to be cleared to play next year but with the Rutgers situation I think the kid has a good shot at being cleared to play.

This was the first sentence in the linked article Having received his release from Rutgers, Eli Carter is on the move.
Does that not mean that he is cleared to play right away? (As well as the rest of the team members who asked for and were granted releases.)

Short answer is no. He would still have to apply for a waiver to play right away. That sentence just means that he's been released from his scholarship at Rutgers. Just like Babb/Chris Allen/Korie Lucious.

I wasn't trying to be an a**, it was a serious question. I would think that would have an effect on this.
It has been discussed into the ground on every transfer page and no one knows where it is coming from. We contacted his AAU coach so we obviously have the capabilities of offering a scholarship. To be honest, I think the Bubu theory is the most sound since no one has announced they are transferring and all the jucos seem like they intend to make it to campus. Maybe Fred and Bubu have an agreement that the scholarship is his unless a big recruit or transfer come along. All speculation of course but we would not contact these transfers just to waste the coaches and players time and money.

We haven't had any problem pulling Top 150 guards who will have 4 years of eligibility right out of high school.
By haven't had trouble you mean we did it 3 times total? This guy is a proven player with experience. It's a no brainer to me.

Yep, 3 in two classes, plus Okoro who was just outside. Carter shot under 40% from the floor, had a negative assist/TO ratio. He put up points because he got a lot of shots on a bad team.

He might not average 14 a game for us, but I bet that if he came here his shooting percentage would go up. He wouldn't be the only scoring option, giving him better shooting opportunities

IF I remember his Iowa recruitment correctly, I'm pretty sure staying close to home was big for this guy. Hence signing with Rutgers. Not that a guy can't pick RU over Iowa, but rather he picked RU over Iowa, Missouri, and UCLA. The only other east coast teams to offer him at the time were worse off than the Knights.

Could be wrong on that though.

I remember watching him against Georgetown and he went off. Team lost but he was clearly the best player on his team.

We can do better than this guy. Pass.

Fred, Coach K, Donnovan, Buzz, Chris Mack, Cronnin >>>>>>>>> CyJack13

Saying you don't want proven players that Florida, Duke, Cinci, Marquette and Xavier are recruiting is a great way to show how much of a moron you are.

I think you forgot someone...it's 4 top 150 players in 2 years. Think about it...it'll come to you.
