Re: Rashad Vaughn

Uh oh. Steve Alford has offered Vaughn. We're screwed now.:pwink:

Seriously though, Alford, do you really think you can get in this late on a guy and sign him. I think he visited their campus only because he was playing AAU ball in the area.

Shut her down, recruiting is over. No way he turns down Stevie Wonder and his perfect hairdo.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I am of the opinion that if he doesn't go to Iowa State, UCLA would be the best situation. It would be funny if Alford turned him into a crappy player. Or if he helped UCLA do good, it would make Iowa fans mad. And if he is out west I won't have to hear about Vaughn.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

We are still recruiting vaughn we are not going after a big man we have brice johnson joel james kennedy meeks and hicks okafor was the only one we were pursuing but he will end up dook or msu or ku with tyus. Now we just got pinson who roy sees as more of a 3 than a 2 we will have plenty of minutes for vsughn but I think the fact that we have pinson plus offers out to russel booker winslow. Now we are looking st lindsey and hill... looking more like vaughn to isu to a lot of unc insiders...

Can we see a link? Where did you come to this conclusion? Just wondering.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Just from what I can see via Twitter, Vaughn has not been retweeting Tarheel stuff or anybody really. The only thing in the past couple of weeks is new offers. I know that before Pinson committed to UNC he was retweeting a bunch of Tarheel fans and their tweets. Now it looks like he is keeping a lot of information close to the chest.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

He took a quick visit to UCLA after his offer, wonder how much interest is there. It is a beautiful campus and storied program. I also hear Cali isn't too bad a place to be :). I would kill to get Vaughn on our team, but if not, anyone other than KU or BU.

Alford's irresistible charisma and magnetic charm is what we've got going for us

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn is a long shot, but I think ISU has a better chance of landing him than Travis, Abu et al. That's that for about a year.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I Googled "Tar Heel forum" and came across "Keeping It Heel."

There are two recent, relevant forums that I found regarding Rashad Vaughn.
The offered bet
and
Rashad Vaughn interview

What I've taken away from those two forums:
- They think their chances with Vaughn are fading.
- They think Vaughn will wait too long to commit and their recruiting class will be full before he makes his decision.
- UNC is recruiting Ahmed Hill - Yahoo! Sports as a back-up plan.
- UNC has not offered a scholarship to Hill.
- They believe when/if Hill is offered, he will immediately commit which will eliminate Vaughn's offer.
- Someone thinks UNC will give Vaughn until October to decide and if he hasn't by then, that's when they'll offer Hill.
- If Vaughn cannot or chooses not to go to UNC, they think Kentucky is where he'll end up.

But that is just how those block heads think. He will go to blueblood regardless in their minds.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

The offered bet forum post number two:

"I think once again you choose to be negative for know reason. I mean I would love Vaughn & he would truly be the icing however I already love are class so be positive about that. Like I said I think Roy gives Vaughn to around October to make a decision. To be at late night with Roy I still believe if we keep making him a top priority he is are's"

Re: Rashad Vaughn

If Vaughn commits here it would be insane, but if he doesn't ill be sad for 10 seconds and then move on.

I agree. Losing out on HS kids who are likely to be "One and Done" type players will not bother me that much.

I think it all depends how much time/effort we're putting into recruiting him. If we are spending a lot of time on him and still don't get him I'll be sad for more than 10 seconds, especially if it meant recruiting him means we lost out on another player. Even if he is one and done, a one and done player can still completely change your program.

I meant more like if we can't get HB who is from Ames, I'm not gonna cry over a player who had no real ties with Iowa State prior to our recruiting.
