Lebron fans have resorted to whining about the coaches? You guys are running out of excuses. I don't really blame them, they are mostly so young and didn't watch Jordan play. All they have is Lebron. And they really want to believe that he is the best, and will muster any excuse they can possibly think of to help justify their points. I definitely agree that it is a generational thing.

No doubt that Jordan had better coaches. Doug Collins and Phil Jackson are clearly better than LeBron's coaches. That shouldn't be debatable.

Yes the immortal Doug Collins, an all time coaching great with two whole playoff series wins in his entire career.

Simple as no, Jordan did not have the ****** performance that Queen James had EVER IN THE PLAYOFFS. Plus Jordan made the players around him better reason they won 6 rings. Sorry whoever thinks they compare are stupid.

Jordan played two years of college and got to be coached by Dean Smith. LeBron got Mike Brown and Eric Spoelstra. I'd say that's an advantage for Jordan....
I imagine Jordan would have rather played for more rings.

Of course they should be compared. One of the great things about sports is being able to compare players from different generations and both Jordan and Lebron were/are the best of their generation.

When does Cyclone football start. Same argument as last year in the playoffs. Two diff types of players, two diff positions, two diff mental make-ups. Jordan is the better player between the ears, meaning toughness, desire (it seems so), and leadership, in my opinion. It's not just physical ability that would make the better player, if it was, I think James would be the leader in this poll. Jordan just seemed to turn it on at crunch time, esp in the playoffs. But, he lost his fair share of series as well. I loved watching Jordan, but I love watching James to. Both great players. Enough rambling. I think Magic is better than both.

James could possibly win as many rings or more than Jordan. That remains to be seen. However, there is one stat that is already in stone. Jordan was 100% in the finals. Six for six. James won't be able to say he was 100%. That is one area where Jordan is hands down better than James.

I'm not saying it should be held against James. It shouldn't be. It's a credit to Jordan. To make to the finals six times, and win all six times, is just simply amazing.

So now we are going to punish James for getting to the Finals with nothing in Cleveland. Okay.

You must of missed the part where I said it shouldn't be held against James, but rather a credit to Jordan.

Exactly. Jordan only got to the finals 6 times. James will definitely go to more. Why should that be relevant. Why give Jordan a positive grade for not being able to get out of the ECF early in his career and quitting basketball twice late in it?

Spo is holding LBJ back. Can you imagine how much better LeBron would play under a coach like Phil Jackson or George Karl?

I think you have stats a little mixed up or maybe I do because I have that MJ played 3 years at UNC and actually won his first title when he was 28.

LBJ is 28 this year and won his first title last year, so LBJ could have 2 rings by the time he is 28, but Lebron has still played 3 more seasons in the league than Jordan.

It isn't quite an apples to apples comparison because one has been in the league 3 years more than the other if you use something arbitrary as age. MJ going to college and probably receiving better coaching than LBJ was still 3 years MJ wasn't in the pros playing for championships or producing stats. Also, I am not sure how the college basketball coach should be a metric for the better basketball player since LBJ didn't go to college (which was his choice when he could have went anywhere) and not all of MJ's teammates were coached by Smith, so it would be hard to prove how much of an effect this had on MJ.
