More of a CSB story, I guess, but I still get a kick out of seeing it...next time you're on the interstate (at least in Iowa...I've seen them in other states too)...take a look at the wood posts holding up the signs and guardrails. Near the bottom, they now put holes thru the post just above ground level. I played a role in those being there, despite having nothing to do with the IDOT or any construction whatsoever. My roommate was doing an internship for the IDOT for safer signs when hit by a car (they were unpredictable where they'd go). I suggested the hole so that it breaks at the same spot every time. A few years later I started seeing them, got ahold of my old roommate, he said that yes, his project was a success and they started doing it.

My wife has since gotten sick of me pointing them out every once in a while.

I took part in planning and executing the 2010 Hampton Dumont senior prank. That made papers in major cities.

1) Got my picture with the rest of the team in the local paper for winning the conference title for 6th/7th grade girls' basketball. (Even though I was last off the bench)
2) Got my picture in the local paper during a car wash fundraiser for the HS marching band, when I squeezed a soapy sponge over another girl's head. I was 14 at the time, look like a scarecrow in the picture, and my feet look like skis.
3) Marched in the Great Circus Parade in Milwaukee just a month later with the HS band. On the delayed broadcast on PBS, there's an extreme close up of my face for about 2 seconds.
4) Didn't get in the circulated version, but a picture of me holding a "Nebraskans 4 Iowa State" sign made it onto the online version of the Weird Herald when ISU beat Nebraska in 2002. (yes, there's a pic....may or may not show it)
5) Along the same line, the last time ISU played Nebraska, my husband, a friend, and myself got to ride the fire truck in front of the team buses with a whiteboard that read "Nebraskans For Iowa State". I wish we had the posterboard type like in 2002 so it could be read better, but that took some work, and I just didn't have time to make it. (Pic and POV video exist of this)
6) You can kinda see my husband and me during the 2012 NCAA Tournament announcement, sitting behind the team about 10 rows or so.

I was in Times Square and got interviewed by MTV about what I thought of the season finale of LOST. I'd only ever watched 2 or 3 episodes, but it was good enough to get on TV.

After we beat OSU in 2011, the bookstore was selling a poster that said "37-31 Cyclones Upset Cowboys" on the left end of the picture you can clearly see me on the big screen

In High School I intercepted a pass from the QB in Indianola and had a fairly clear 30 yard run straight to the end zone. That was going to be really great. Unfortunately, as I was tucking the ball down it hit my hip-pad and squirted out at an angle 10 yards in front of me where the Indianola team recovered it. So I guess it wasn't 5 minutes of fame... more like about 0.5 seconds of fame.

I designed the silver fox's apartment, only for him to sell it a few years after...

Also, I spoke with Bruce Willis on the phone... This might be my single greatest accomplishment (before my twins) according to my mother... Btw, Bruce Willis really does sound like Bruce Willis on the phone...

Let's pretend everyone doesn't know who this is...since every guy with grey hair likes to call himself that.
