On this play, the covering official ruled the runner was down and still had control of the ball. There is no question the runner ends up on the ground, and there is no question that eventually an Iowa State player ends up with the ball. However, after reviewing the video evidence it is impossible to tell with certainty when the runner loses control of the ball and at that point was he down or not.

I think perhaps they left a word out of the bolded phrase...

If they aren't going to use the replays to get the right call, then just do away with them.

Conflict of interest if true..

@WideRtNattyLt: It's probably not going to help the situation knowing Big 12 supervisor of football officials Walt Anderson is a Texas graduate, is it?

You guys got robbed bigtime. The ruling was down by contact, and there was clear video evidence that he was not down when he was stripped. Pretty ******* ******. Sorry about that. Most of us Baylor people feel for you guys. Should have won that game. It's best to never let the zebras decide the game, but like your coach said, the number of hankies on the field was embarrassing. And then that call... And then the late hit... I do feel for you guys. Chin up though, everyone knows you should have won that game.

I give him credit for graduating from somewhere.

It also didn't help last night when the official announcing the play stands had a Texas accent.

What I take from this is that a bunch of us on CF need to become officials so we can fix games in ISU's favor in the future.

Frankly, that is exactly what I expected their response to be.

I figured it would have a few more lines like

"It was Texas - don't you know who they are?"

and

"You should know your place, Iowa State."

Well, all that work Pollard and ISU did in helping keep the B12 intact is really paying off now.......
I know the B12 is good place for us to be but really, I'm starting to have doubts now. College sports is pretty much about protecting the big programs to keep the TV revenue safe. I love ISU and will always support us, go to games, etc but outside of ISU, everything college wise can just go to hell.
At least with pro sports, I know its about money/business but at least the playing field is level. Even MLB compared to college sports now.

Good. Now we have another real rivalry, like the one we have with our little sis to the east.
