Which teams do you consider to be Blue Bloods?

Who do you think are the blue bloods of college hoops? What is your criteria? I think some obvious ones are KU, KY, IND, NC, UCLA .

My criteria would be success going back to the 60s up to the current era. It would also include having multiple national championships with championships coming under different coaches. However, that would leave out Duke since to my knowledge they have won their championships only under coach K but i'm too lazy to look it up.

Some others that might be considered are Louisville, MSU, G'town . What are your thoughts?

No old Big East teams? Maybe UConn?

I was just going to post the Huskies. That would be my vote, too.

As much as I hate to say it, Ohio State is also a perennial contender. Michigan State usually is pretty solid, too.

UCLA
KU
UK
IU
UNC
Duke
Ohio State
Louisville
Michigan State

I don't know about Ohio State. Their last national championship was in 1960 and i think you need to have a more recent one to be on the list.

UCLA...
I always get sick of the hype on ESPN about the big upcoming UCLA game
They are not good... Have not been good... No one is afraid to play them... They hired Steve Alford as a coach!

Just think about it. If Iowa State released their schedule and it had home games against... say UK or UNC or Duke or IU. Everyone would be extremely excited(i.e. Michigan this year). Now if that schedule had UCLA... Ok but nothing like the rest. BlueBlood status has been gone for a long time.

True. But, as of late, it's a pretty solid bet that they're getting to at least the Sweet 16.

It's true, UCLA has not won a championship in 18 years......but they will always get included on any list like this because of the 10 championships in 12 years and 7 straight. That will likely never be topped.
