My ideal would be somebody with access to a church gym that has a group that plays early in the morning, or late at night. Preferably, on the sw side.

The College CFers extend a challenge to the old guys around Cedar Rapids to a game.

Id be in. Its going to be hard to find gym time anywhere this time of year. My sons basketball team is having trouble finding a place to practice. The only place ive had any luck anywhere close to here of just walking in is the field house in ic. I havent been down there in about 10 years tho so im not sure if anything has changed.

Call Mount Mercy, I've gone and shot in their gym a few times. I however am young enough that I think most people assume I'm still in college.

The MAC in Marion has a really nice court but of course we'd all have to join.

Any one know someone at Kirkwood? Years ago I used to play pick up games there at night and some weekends.

I am fairly new to the Marion/Cedar Rapids area and I would like to get some CF hoops started up in the area like we already have in Ames.. Would anyone be interested and/or know anyone that would be able to put the logistics of it together? Sat/Sun mornings maybe? When I lived in Cedar Falls I would go up to our local church every Sat/Sun to hoop it up, but ever since I have moved down here I cant find any pickup games..

Although I don't still live in the area, Phoenix now, I would be down to play when I am home this Christmas. I am coming home for 3 weeks over the holiday, and I know of at least one other Cyclone that would join. Please keep me posted if this becomes a reality so I can play for a few weeks.

Oh I will definitely keep working to make this a possibility, just like a Rashad Vaughn thread, I will not let this die!

I think a lot of people underestimate the number of Iowa State Alumni/fans in the Cedar Rapids area. I know I did before I moved here.
I have a Hawk fan friend (UNI grad, of course) who made a comment to me that he didn't realize how many Cyclone fans lived in this area until he bought a house and was surrounded by them. I said that's because ISU fans actually went to college and have jobs and homes.

I was once the head of the Linn County Alumni Association and there were over 4000 ISU alums in CR at that time, and that was 15 years ago.. I am sure the number has grown since then.

So just an update. This IS happening. Im in the works with a school principal currently and trying to figure out the logistics of it all. Hopefully will have some dates/times by the beginning of next week. Get excited CR/Marion Cyclones. Also make sure the College CF'ers get their parents permission slips to me ASAP. Thanks!

I'm sure we could play a higher level of basketball than we have seen out of previous versions of CF basketball. Of course, I've seen junior high girls basketball played at a higher level than what we've seen from previous versions of CF basketball.
Screw you man.
