The home-and-home worthy teams in that circle (excluding Indiana and Ohio because they're too far away and your Ohio bias is showing :realmad:):

Creighton
Nebraska
Mizzou
St. Louis
Illinois
Northwestern
Marquette
Wisconsin
Minnesota

I think Clone fans would make a day out of a trip to any of these locations, if the game was on a weekend without ISU football.

Ohio State is 10 hours from Ames. They are consistently a top 15 team with Thad as the coach. It would be a great matchup every year.

I would also include Notre Dame and Purdue unless you're cutting out the whole state of Indiana completely.

there's about 25 teams that'd make sense or be really fun for us to play home-home. the problem is we make sense for ZERO teams to schedule us. no recruiting, likely no tv, and we're not yet a nationally respectable program. getting there....

Illinois, Purdue, Marquette, and Minnesota. I miss playing Mizzou, but that was a messy divorce.

Marquette would be a good one too. I'd love to beat them on the court after some of our head-to-head recruiting battles.

Xavier would be one that could work. They're generally a top 20-30 team and would probably be more likely to come out to Hilton than one of the more traditional high majors. Plus, the Cintas Center is a great place to watch a basketball game.
