Seriously? I mean It's not like Iowa plays in the big ten... Lets take a look at some of Iowa States home schedules over the last few years and compare?

Also, I didnt take out Hoiberg's first year because it was pretty good so I figured they'd want it included.

ISU SOS: 77, 33, 43, 291
Iowa SOS: 18, 29, 42, 346

In Fran and Fred's first year ISU had an easier schedule. During ISU's two NCAA tournament game winning years ISU's SOS was almost identical to Iowa's. That's a common but absolutely wrong argument you hear from Iowa fans. I expect the SOS to be similar again this year with ISU's non conf being tougher and Iowa's conf sos being tougher. If Iowa goes deep in Atlantis and Big Ten and ISU bows out early in both its tournaments Iowa will have a significantly tougher schedule, otherwise it won't be much different.

Considering ISU's conference SOS was 56th and Iowa's was 55th last year...

This is the first year it made a shred of sense for Iowa to play anybody non-conf and they are. I think they've been wise previously. Fans argue the weak non-conf kept them out of NCAA play last year without realizing a strong non-conf would have also pegged them some more losses when the team was still really young at some key positions.

Just last April and March all you heard on KXNO was how tough Iowa's schedule was compared to ISU when in reality they were nearly identical sos ranking. Heard some of it two years ago too when reality was the SOS was the same but that year there was no doubt from Iowa fans that ISU had a much better team. Even a lot of local media would wrongly talk up Iowa's SOS over ISU.

Iowa fans hate when ISU gets positive attention, that's why they hate Rhoads because they say that he gets the local media attention and they don't give Fred credit because he's talked about nationally. That's all it comes down to
Not really but if believing that makes you feel better, fine. I have no problem with Fred or Rhoads.

The old "if we'd played anybody we'd have lost" strategy makes you have nits.

So do you know one or two. No problem with what Fred has done.

Probably about 25-30 of them but they are coming out of the woodwork now that the football team has six wins (a total they have been putting the Cyclones down for over the last several years).

Does anybody believe deep down that Iowa will actually win this game? I just don't see it.

Actually deep down is about the only place I think Iowa will win.....the logical part of me knows that they will probably lose in Ames.

It's the same way we feel tonight. Altitude, 20k fans, team averaging 97 ppg. If you told me I could have 2 wins among Mich, @BYU and Iowa I'd be thrilled. Losing @ISU won't be a big deal to Iowa if they can win a game or two in the Atlantis thing. If they get bounced early from that, @ISU is a bigger game for their resume.

depends, before the season I thought we'd struggle in the non con because of our youth and new faces like Kane & Hogue. Obviously wrong about that on Sunday night but I need to see a couple more solid games before I change my mind.

I was really worried when we didn't know how bad or how long Ejim's injury would be. After seeing him give one of ISU's better performances of the last few years I feel a lot better. Wouldn't shock me if we lose, but I'd expect losing tonight and/or a loss in Hawaii to be more likely. I'm a little worried about UNI just because they're always such a pain and it's not at Hilton.
