Somewhere in the U.S.
Niang, Hogue, Kane and Ejim have to avoid foul trouble the whole game. ISU just does not have the quality depth, especially in the front court to afford losing one or two of them for any significant amount of time. There is no one on ISU's bench that can replace the leadership and rebounding of Hogue, Ejim and Kane. There just isn't unless somehow Gibson or Edozie would play out of their minds.

Iowa plays 10 deep, and although some of those 10 are not really better than the top 10 players ISU has, the way they are used helps to keep the best Iowa players more fresh. Going 10 deep allows Iowa to play an up-tempo game. I don't think it is as up-tempo as ISU likes to play, but still it is not the old slow-paced games we saw from Iowa before Fran arrived.

This game could turn into a track meet, where both teams kind of abandon defense until the very end of the game. If that happens, I think it will favor ISU primarily because of the outside shooting abilities of the guards. However, the last few games, Iowa had really improved on its outside shooting, but then against Drake, they fell back to 16 percent shooting from outside, so who knows what will show up at Hilton?

I really think this could be a similar game to the 1987 game. 102-100. Who is going to be ISU's Lafester Rhodes this time?

After last night, I'm not predicting ISU blows anyone out. I learned my lesson! Could they do it? Absolutely. But we'd have to play two complete halves, which has been this team's Achilles heel so far. Even in the Auburn blow out, we started ridiculously cold and would've been down big to a team that wasn't completely inept on offense. We've got a real good team this year, but one of these times we are going to pay for our slow starts and come up short. I just really hope it's not on Friday!

This very well could be the best Iowa vs Iowa State matchup in basketball history!!! Can't wait!!

Don't know if I'd go that far, but yeah, should be a great game. Now if only I can figure out how to watch it since my daughter has a game that night also. Hopefully a friend of mine will be reffing the game so that at least I'll have some company in missing the game.

Do you have to keep bringing up LaFester? That still stings every time I hear his name. Speaking of him, if anybody is going to have a game like him I think it would be Niang. That guy scares me more than anybody else on your team. He's probably the best player on either team.

Plenty enough to know that Iowa is a slow, boring team to watch, that has almost zero chance of winning in Hilton. I'll own it if they beat us, but I think we are more athletic by far, especially through 7 deep, and they won't keep up.

Horrible post. You clearly are just making this up. Iowa is not slow paced at all. They race down the court after made baskets and score a lot in transition, more than ISU does in fact.

Just because you obviously can't stand Iowa doesn't mean you need to make **** up to post here.

Whatever happens, it's nice to see the anticipation for this game back to where it belongs. It's going to be a battle and whoever wins it will look good on the resume in March.

You mean if our best players get in foul trouble, we might lose? Talk about in depth analysis lol.
the biggest worry for me is that ISU usually comes out of the block chucking up bricks. Seems like we always miss 9 of our first 10 threes. On the other side, Iowa starts fast and on point but fall off a bit as th game goes on. I expect Iowa to get off to an early lead and ISU comes back and takes control in the second half with Hilton going crazy sealing their fate.

This game has all the makings for a blowout on either side or a back and forth nail biter.

So, either team could win the game by a little or a lot?

This is the kind of pointed fan analysis that keeps me coming back to CF again and again.:jimlad:

After church, tavern Hok hunts me down to tell me we were lucky to escape "da Hoks' [insert sexual preference slur term] purple scout team." They are just unreal.

Should we put Rulzzz and Cowgirl in separate isolation cells next Friday?
