How would numbered tickets even work? Wouldn't people just show up early, get their numbered ticket, leave and then come back closer to game time?

Surely some AD somewhere has got this figured out. How do they do it with the Cameron Crazies for Duke?

One idea would be to do some unannounced checking of numbers (with a 5 minute warning for someone using the portapotty). If you aren't there, your number gets crossed off the admission list.

My son likes to get the all sports, then he can go to other things if he has time and it is a little cheaper to go to football and basketball. Wish it had an option to get nosebleed seats in Hilton that cost about the same. Then he could go sit in the Cyclone Alley area in the games that are not well attended anyway, but know he could always get in on these big games. Looked to buy him another ticket for this game to make sure he could get in, but the price just didn't seem worth it.

Funny how my freshman year (Hoiberg's first year) nobody gave a crap about our basketball team. I could show up whenever I wanted to any game and get a seat in the student section. Now it's completely different.

That's how it was for all 4 years of McDermott's time here. You could show up 5 mins after tip and still get into the parquet.

I waited with a group of guys starting at 2:30 and we figured we would be solid for middle of the lower bowl. When we got there and saw how many people there I figured we would make the lower bowl easy. It ****** me off to see the line in front of us double then triple and all of a sudden we had probably 700 people ahead of us instead of 200 like it was when we first got there. We BARELY got lower bowl! I head some people got third row who started waiting at 5:30 pm because they hopped in line with people they knew. What a joke. But then again who am I to complain when one of the campers got kicked out of his spot by that ****** flag guy. Nobody is entitled to a spot unless you get your *** out there and wait to earn it. I hope the athletic department/cyclone alley take control of this because it is a complete joke how screwed over people got today.
Quite a few of the people that get to cut in line are buddy buddy with CA members.

That or establish some sort of system that the more games you go to (women's and men's) the better seats you get. It accrues over your time at ISU so you "work your way up" as you progress through your school years. It encourages students to go to the women's games and the people who are the most dedicated to men's and women's basketball get the best seats. It would be tough to get you with your friends but really that's wait I see is fair for people who put their time in.

You are right. A points system for attendance for all sports would be the way to go. That would reward the most loyal students with the best MBB seats. It would also increase attendance at other sports like WBB, volleyball, wrestling, etc. and eliminate the current chaos.

I couldn't find my balls to do it because I was outside in the cold for so damn long! So I sat in the second row for the first half and then ended up saying **** it and I just stood in the front row in the aisle.

We sent an email to Pollard last night about the flag guy and "reserved seats" and he responded to us and said he was "unaware of the situation" and he said he would respond to us again once he found out the whole story.

They need to develop a color or a bracelet system like they have for front row football students… I was with 7 guys in the 7th tent and there MAY have been 25-30 people in front of us camping out. When all was said and done, I would guess there were 150 some people in front of us and we got in the 6th row. After spending 22 hours in the freezing cold, that shouldn't happen.

That being said, flag guy needs to be gone. I have never heard a good thing about that dude, and he got blown away by Brackens in a fat girl suit. Get out flag guy

Seemed like a ton of people were saving seats last night. I agree with NoJantzes, a wristband system like football would be a really good idea.

How about a bracelet system that you receive a different mark/punch every few hours when an official person walks through? Not only did lots of people cut in front of the campers, but almost as many jumped over the rope when the gates opened.

Get rid of flag guy, please. All he does is run around the top with a flag. Get over yourself. Someone else started that tradition anyway.

I am the guy that had to get out of the "reserved seat" for the out of shape flag runner ****** !!!

So sorry that happened. When we sat near him over the break game, we wondered if he could even make it around with the flag. His chants at the other team's coach were truly cringe worthy.
