Re: Rashad Vaughn

OT comments are fine. OT comments that are negative comments towards players, which include someone transferring, is against site rules.

I think you'll probably get kicked out of college to make room for Vaughn.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Kind of ready to see who is left off his top 5 already...I hope his gf isn't late on things like Rashad is...

Hes not even down to his 5 yet?

yeeeaaahhh....I'll pay attention this spring to see if he signs. If he does great, if not..oh well. We will still be great next year. Not a chance I'm waiting with baited breath to see what a 17 year old kid does.

Seems like coach dale had a conversation with jimmy chitwood like this....

I agree. While I'd love to have him here, we have to remember we'd only have him for one season. So it wouldn't be a huge loss.

And with all the alleged shady recruiting tactics in college basketball, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him end up at UNLV or a school like Kentucky or North Carolina.

Found this on the Gophers message board

A couple months back I spoke to Darren Dearring, the father of Wisconsin freshman Riley Dearring and Vaughn's former AAU teammate. He started to talk about the "Big 3" and when Vaughn became the subject (acted as if he knew Vaughn well), he seemed to think Minnesota wasn't even being considered. Darren said that Vaughn has been taking money from, and was implying that it is A LOT of money from a few schools. The schools he said he knew Vaughn is taking money from are North Carolina, UNLV, and Iowa State.

Again I was told this information. I'm not sure if Mr. Dearring is a reliable source as he was kind of oblivious to the recruitment of Jones and Travis (said they were both locks for Michigan St. when I believe both of them took MSU of their lists.)

I hope this is false and he is still considering Minnesota.

Go Gophers!"

Of course you find this on the gopher board. The only way Minnesota could lose a recruit is if another school paid him.

I think this post was talked about a while back in this thread. Not sure how far, but it sounds familiar.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Vaughn isn't worth the trouble that paying a player would bring. In fact, no one-and-done player is. The fact that they only stay one year lowers their market value.

Now if he was required to stay 2 or more years I might come up with some $.

I honestly barely care if he comes to ISU or not. I've come to the realization that we will be awesome no matter what.

I very highly doubt CFH and his staff has paid any money to RV. CFH turned his own staff member in once for being at an AAU game when he wasn't supposed to but now he's paying unsigned recruits? No way this is true. If it is then I am 100% blind to the reality of college athletics. Right now I'm about 75% blind because I still don't understand this whole "mentor/handler" thing.

I LOVE the fact that Minny fans think it's true.

To be fair, we would probably react the same way, if Vaughn ended up at unlv or something

Re: Rashad Vaughn

I know, I get it, he's a top notched talent. But all this frickin drama has me wondering this. If he is this self promoting, and such a drama queen, is the the type of personality that will play "selfless" team basketball? Or is this going to be all about him? For some reason, and I'm sure I'm wrong, it just doesn't seem worth getting caught up in all this drama. Narrow it to 5", then 3...then maybe announce or narrow it to two. This kid loves attention wayyyyyy to much in my opinion. Just doesn't seem like Fred's kind of player. And I love the Cyclones.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Is there any tangible proof that this kid loves the attention? My impression is that he is a guy who is pretty likeable, and probably a little indecisive. Nothing wrong with that at all. I hope he sees what he could be in this offense and chooses the good guys.

Not sure that he loves attention. He could just bey genuinely undecided- and he is completely entitled to taking his time. Seems like we and others are forcing our attention on him quite a bit too. What the hell can he say if he has not decided but everyone likes him to make public his entire decision process.

and even if he did love attention, that's fine too. Doesn't mean that will translate to selfish play on the court. See Royce white.

finally, we'll be just fine with or without him

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Yes, the second time that gopherhole article showed up on here. Wonder if they would say Fred is paying for players if Fred took the gophers job? (OK - I know the answer to that).

The only ones acting like drama queens in all of this are message board posters.
