Re: Rashad Vaughn

LOL, check out this gem from GopherHole:

Apparently he wasn't as homesick as we all thought #MONEYTALKS

That's the same guy that was embarrassed that Minnesota didn't make the list, but ISU did.

It's funny....now they are turning it into that his recruitment has become slimy (I assume because of the article written by the Minnesota writer!) so that is why Minnesota could not compete. Total delusion.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

Can someone bring me up to speed on the status of Vaughn's recruitment? I follow recruiting from a distance and I don't want to wade through 5000 posts. I was once under the impression it was basically ISU vs. UNLV for his services. Have Kentucky, NC, and Kansas been in the mix all along, or did he blow up and suddenly they're hot on his trail?

Kansas and UNC have always been in the mix. Kentucky was the early front-runner but backed off recruitment of him until last month when they re-entered the race in a heavy fashion. Most still think to think ISU and UNLV are favorites, but the addition of UK has muddled it a bit.

Yep. It's amazing that some of them just couldn't accept the fact that their only shot of landing any of the Big 3 was to not get rid of Tubby. Like any of those 3 studs were going to commit to a brand new coach they've never heard of, just because he happens to be a Pitino.

How many posts can we add to this thread over analyzing the order he posted them even though he said no order.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

My sister lives in MN and she said people up there are talking (real people, not message board trolls) that Hoiberg must pay recruits and something shady is going on down in Ames.

I told her to mention to these people ISU turned themselves in for text message violations so there are no scandals.

I was told "Hoiberg turned himself in to appear innocent, knowing he was going to have to pay for Vaughn"

Re: Rashad Vaughn

That's a heck of a list to the general sport fans. Kentucky, Kansas, UNC.. Just how he wants it. He's looking to make a headline on his decision. And I can't wait until he picks up that ISU cap on national television :)

It seems these same "real people" wanted Fred so bad as their coach though, instead of little Ricky

it's sour grapes, they had no problem with Pete Kaffey when he was coaching for Robinsdale Cooper, but when he and Vaughn left and it appeared minnesota was going to strike out in recruiting hometown kids, you see the hit piece done by the Star Trib.

Re: Rashad Vaughn

And we have a new frontrunner for sour grapes post of the year! Bonus points for mentioning "doing it the right way." This is gold from gopherhole and some dude named jmag21:

Disappointed we didn't make the top five, but it'd been pretty clear for a while he wasn't ending up here. As per usual, I wish him no success in his basketball career, and hope that whatever team he ends up endures near constant disappointment in their basketballing hopes and dreams. However, I will say, and of course, this sounds very sour grapes, and perhaps it is, but I'm secretly a bit relieved. I'd rather fail attempting to succeed the right way than to actually succeed the wrong way. Clem hurt. And whichever school gets Rashad, it's absolutely clear that they're selling their soul to get him. It's slim consolation, but if I wanted to cheer for Calipari, I'd be a Kentucky fan right now. I hope Pitino is able to craft a winning program the right way with his 2015 class.
