I think CW mentioned this at some point in the last few weeks, but, something I thought could deserve a new thread.

Iowa State has had just a little success since the announcement of the 25 million dollar gift, on Nov. 25th, 2013.

  • Football Team: 2-0 finishing with two wins
    • Picked up JUCO Players to fill holes
    • Hired well known (successful) OC
    • Hired up-and-coming RB Coach
    • Returned (some) excitement back to the program
  • Mens BBall: 14-0 Ranked 9th
    • Mckay committed and is on campus
    • 7 of the 9 weeks ISU has had the 12 player of the week
    • Hilton Magic is back
    • Number #1 BPI
    • Number #2 RPI
    • Legitimate 12 Conference Contenders

I'm not forgetting Womens Basketball (13-0) ranked 11th, or Wrestling, I just don't know as much about the accomplishments they've had thus far this season.

EXCITING TIMES INDEED!!

The announcement was not on November 13. Pollard said he didn't even find out about until the OU game which was November 16, and wasn't announced until after the KU game on November 25.

Almost all of those are huge and pleasant surprises to me. Wasn't really expecting any of them...

Wow. Way to kill an upbeat thread.

Let's take the optimistic view of Johnny's return for the Michigan game as a sort of 'passing of the torch' to Fred. Just think, If Fred can manage to win 25 games a season, he'll surpass Johnny as the all time wins leader @ ISU in a total of just 9 seasons.

Johnny may be gone, but his legacy will live on as long as Hilton is full and rockin! Like it will be later tonight. Go Cyclones!
