I don't clap, but do immediately critique the movie as if my opinion were informed or important. During previews I do let my feeling be known on what I think is watchable and unwatchable. Probably annoying.

In Chicago, if you are close to the opening date it is not unusual to sit next to someone. Since reserved seating it is much better. No longer playing the "is this idiot going to to make me move" game.

1. Completely agree...stupid. My sister does this and for this reason and several others I will not go to movies with her anymore.

Another maybe more random movie theater pet peeve, people who buy hot dogs at movie theaters. I wish they didn't even sell them. I love hot dogs, but they smell freaking disgusting. Also, having a pregnant wife with morning sickness doesn't go over too well when trying to take her to the movies these days, found that out the hard way.

We're vacationing in Tampa area and the following story was on the TV news recently. 71 year old retired policeman is at the movies (Lone Survivor). Guy next to him is texting during the previews. 71 year old guy complains to him, other guy throws bag of popcorn at him, 71 year old guy pulls out gun and shoots and kills other guy. Arrested for 2nd degree murder.

I always have to immediately let whomever is with me know if I approve of the trailers and my intent to watch those movies in the future.

Off topic, kind of, but I dispise when people trybtobclapnalon to songs and can't do it even close to the right beat....and some people have the look in their eye as they try doing it like they finally belong to something.

When you get to the movie early, always sit in the center of the row. No one is going to ask you to scoot down in that case. Then you also don't have people walking in front of you to go to the bathroom.

Why can't all theaters get assigned seating like the comment about Austin.

1. Not sure if I ever did, but I cheer and hoot and holler at the TV during ISU games. Who is that for? Especially if I am watching late on DVR.

2. These are the same people who show up at church when I usher, five minutes late, and say, "We'd like to sit together." Unless there is room, I say, "That won't be possible."

Id wager many theaters like that you have to show up early to get a seat... makes a customer more likely to be buying other things for while you wait, things that make them more money than the tickets do.

I haven't gone to a movie theater in about 8 years. I now remember why.

The only time I remember applause in a movie theater was when I went to an all day Indiana Jones marathon. Classic movies, and a theater full of fan boys. For the record, no applause after Crystal Skull.

Reserved seats with advanced purchase for the win.

1. I do the same thing during games. My kids always say "They can't hear you". So then I just go post it on twitter.

2. I go to a small church where it is never a problem finding a seat other than maybe Easter. However, one day we were there and I counted 8 married couples and the only ones that were sitting together were ones up front because both of them were involved in the service.

I'm a guy who doesn't like movies generally. The stories are either cartoonish or I know what's going to happen

It was a $50 evening the last time I went to the movie theater.

I'll pass on that experience for sure

If people want to applaud, I don't care.

If someone has the nards to ask me to move, I'll have them to say no thanks.
