How's this for optimistic thinking? RV is putting the brakes on the unfounded UNLV momentum over the last few hours. He reads the same stuff we do. Unfounded being the operative word. He appears to be contradicting common opinion right now. Which can't hurt ISU.

Yes. He knows where he's going, and my guess is he's very confident about his selection. Why else would he move up his announcement date?
Whoever it is, he must feel very good about it, and wants to end the process. Props to him for keeping everything close, and thoroughly evaluating his options.

Burnham tweets it every time we get a big FB commit. After being the primary on Lazard, maybe Fred brought him out to be the closer for Vaughn. Anyone see if Shane has been drinking coffee lately? That would cinch it.

I love how he basically just gave the middle finger to everyone who's trying to predict where he's going. Can't even imagine the amount of tweets he's getting from people doing some last ditch recruiting efforts.

The last thing I will say on this that makes me feel positive about his decision is that he dropped the UNC visit, and tweeted he was going to make his decision this weekend, early in the morning the day after ISU defeated Okie State in an exciting, well-played 3OT game which I am guessing he watched or at the very least saw the highlights from on SportsCenter.
Nothing happened with any of the other schools the day before his announcement. None of them even played. ISU played a superb game on national tv.
That makes me feel pretty good about this. That's all I got.

Why again are we insulting RV? Fred has spent years of his life recruiting and vetting this young man, and you think you know enough to personally attack him in your weak emotional state 48 hours before his announcement, or that it is wise to? Let's do Fred and the staff a favor and stop with this and (even worse) the unfounded Kaffery stuff.

Me too. I thought the keys (other than relationships continuing to be good) were:
Have a great official visit and great game when he did (check)
Have a great season last year and this year to prove that we are continuing the momentum Fred had (check)
The timing just seems to make sense for Iowa State. If he chooses someone else, it just wasn't going to happen.
