Agreed. What would the players care about the crowd doing something to get onto the game or possibly get into the head of the opponent's star player? I mean, what advantage would they get from that?
The reasoning I have for tweeting at them was in the hope of a retweet, since they have a huge student following. So it's not necessarily because I think they should know about it, but because I need to reach as many students as possible. If I do I plan on sending some tweets out like Wednesday or Thursday so they can focus on tomorrow's game.
I like an organized chant of "Flop" from the opposite ends chanting opposite each other like Cyclone Power!

290. Great responses since posting the rough draft of the instructions. We've steadily grown by about 100 each day. Of course this rate will not stay constant. It may speed up and it may slow down. But at this rate we're on pace to have around 800 signed up by Saturday, with invitations out to over 1000 or so more. (I imagine the pace of sign ups will slow down midweek, then speed up drastically thursday-saturday.)
Combine that with the flyers I'll be handing out before the game and (hopefully) widespread word of mouth and I think we can do this thing.

It may come up, but they likely already know.
Since this is an ESPN game, students could make a real name here.
Chances are there will be a number of students who have no idea. If you could pass the word along I'd really appreciate it!

I'm sorry, that was sophomoric, but I couldn't resist.
I noticed during the OK St K State game that Smart wasn't getting the flop calls like usual. Fran kinda chuckled about it, but Brent was heartbroken.
I guess his story is out.

I thought it was funny on the play where DJ Johnson lowered his shoulder and trucked Smart, and Smart was planted in legal gaurding position. Smart went down, and it was not a flop, but got called for a blocking foul. Fran says it was like the boy who cried wolf. The refs now may be expecting Smart to flop, whether its legit or not.
Then later in the game Fran said Marcus Smart was the best defensive player in the conference. I was confused. There are only a few reasons why a guy would flop like Smart does... #1. You can't play defense. #2. You are too lazy to play defense. #3. You are a coward that fears absorbing contact so you prematurely flop before contact is actually made. #4. You lack integrity as a person and lack respect for the game so you don't bother to actually play it the way that it was meant to be played.
Take your pick but I think Marcus Smart has shown all 4 of these reasons for his flop jobs. The kid is an absolute disgrace to the game.
My plan is to be prepared to record this so it can be a youtube sensation...Camera will be at the ready.
