Don't think we get a #1 seed, but a #2 seed is within our grasp thanks to that Big 12 title run. Still, I won't be surprised if we are a #3 in this world of sports media.

I feel like we're a legit 2-3 seed historically. It's only when you look at the rest of the field this season that you can start making a case for a 1-seed.

Remember that trip to Morgantown?

That trip to Morgantown helped more than harmed our season, I think. It was a kick in the backside. Our defense improved considerably since that game. And we became much more focused.

Duke lost and Michigan may in their third match with MSU. This will tighten up.

I won't be surprised if Iowa State is a 2 seed scrubbed to the 3 seed line based on locations.

Wouldn't mind if Virginia got that last 1 seed. Vitale said it should be Michigan. Rick Pitino thinks his Louisville team is deserving at 29-5. I see it going to one of those 3, realistically.

1 seed is a stretch (I though I heard somewhere that no team with 7 or more losses has ever been a 1 seed before). I think 2 seed is pretty attainable though.

It has happened 3 times with 7 losses:

Michigan State 2000
Illinois 2001
Michigan State 2012

Never with 8 or more and never with 7 for a non-Big 10 team

I don't think Louisville gets the #1, their non-conference schedule is a joke. It makes Iowa's non-conf schedule last season, look good.

I don't think it makes a lick of difference how the games play out today. They have the brackets all set and aren't going to change them.

Never said I thought it should be Louisville, just that I could see it happening. The record is good, they won their conference, and they are defending champs which I don't think should factor into the equation, but I bet it will.

A #1 seed would be a dream but I wonder how you can give it to a team that finished tied for third in its conference. KU fans would be irate if ISU were seeded higher than the Jayhawks.

I disagree. They probably had one that had Duke/Virginia easily interchangeable and they probably had brackets for whether Michigan won and for whether Michigan lost. And then they just show us the one based on what happened. (Other 3 games prob had no bearing on bracket)

If MSU wins, I would not be surprised if Iowa State is a 4-seed. Which would be a crime, and if Michigan is a 1-seed, ISU should not be below a 2-seed.
I don't think there's any way ISU falls to a 4 seed, especially basing it off the Big 10 Tourney Championship.

And if it did, I would be convinced that the committee would have had a few extra cold drinks before putting them there.
