Game will definately be on, not a part of VEISHEA, rather just coincides with VEISHEA. It is a sanctioned practice and one of very few the team gets in the spring, so it will definately happen.

Is the spring game considered "VEISHEA"?

That would be my question, too. It's an event that occurs during VEISHEA, but it's not really one of the 7 colleges listed or anything.

Think about the sunk cost of booking the bands such as TI and Timeflies. That has to be a pretty penny.

Game will still happen. Not part of the week. There has been years that it is not on VEISHEA saturday

Unlike many of you I don't think this was the right decision. Its not going to stop students from being wild this week, and I would bet people will still come into town this weekend. Cancelling veisha in the long run was a good idea, but this could cause the situation to escalate more. Now instead of rioting for no reason they may riot because it was cancelled.

I agree, but he had no choice but to cancel. He was in a tough spot. If they rioted again tonight, he would be the one everyone blamed.

I get the decision, but I think it would have been equally effective to just hold students ransom with the threat of cancelling next year if they don't behave. That way all that hard work doesn't go down the drain.

But, again, I understand.

Don't disagree with the decision, but there will be literally no effect on any chance of rioting compared to if it wasn't cancelled and he just threatened to cancel next year.

People mention money like it matters. It doesn't. The decision was about a lot more than money.

It will keep all those people planning on coming up for the weekend away. Definitely the right decision. Still sucks though

The question now is: do the students retailate this weekend with a full scale riot? It'll be interesting to see how many police are on hand this weekend.
