Honda Element. Bought it new and it ran like a champ but the headlights were bad so I retrofitted with a HID system (not a plug and play but the full assembly) but never felt comfortable. Can't say exactly why I hated it other than it just never felt like "me". Owned for 9 months and swapped out for a range rover sport.

Ford Escort "Pony". So, take a 1990 Escort, and be like "can't you make it cheaper"? Didn't come with a radio, but had an aftermarket one when I bought it, that if you turned it all the way down, it would go around to all the way up. No power steering, much less power windows or AC. 5 speed manual. Red paint that wasn't clearcoated in a time when they went cheaper on the base paint because 'everything is clearcoated'...so you could wash and wax it to a nice deep red, and in a half hour, it was turning orange/pink.

And honestly, as a college kid who was paying his own way thru school, I was happy as heck to have it when my dad 'splurged' and got it for me.

2002 Audi A6. We've generally had good luck with reliability with all vehicles over the years, but the Audi suffered through a long list of mostly electrical issues. Sold it after 3 years.

:realmad:Hands down --- A 1970 Chevy Vega!
Bought it new the first year it was made. Huge mistake!

Could not keep brakes on it. At 1,500 miles we had to but new front disc pads on.

About 2,000 miles in it started running very rough. Took it back to the dealer and was told I needed a new air filter. That filter was a bonded unit, meaning the breather and filter were bonded together. $30.00. That was very high price for an air filter in that day.

Neither problem was covered by warranty!!!! Dealer nor GMC would stand behind this lemon! Chevy knew they had a poorly designed car and refused to do the right thing.

Got rid of it less than a year after we bought it. Was so PO'd I haven't bought another Chevy since! :realmad:

Yep, 44 years later and I can still feel my blood pressure rise!

My first car was a 1970 Austin Marina, an ugly British car that was gutless, got bad gas mileage and had Lucas electronics that had incredible bad issues

WORST car ever...AMC Matador, hand-me-down from my brother. Could never get the carburetor set right...either too rich and I blew carbon all over the planet or too poor and it choked and bucked like a wild burro. Despite its huge front end, it had a tiny engine. Couldn't pass anybody, even going downhill. Had to replace the transmission after only 12,000 miles. Not a good car. Just not.

Pick a Chevy....

Pops was a Chevy man because he knew how to work on them. What he didn't understand is some other vehicles don't need to be worked on nearly as often. Watched more than one Chevy fall apart around me

Never again, Chevy. Never again

My first car was a 91 escort. Two doors. Had the fancy seatbelt that automatically slid up to the front when you opened the door. The key ignition broke so we took that off and you had to start it with a small flathead screwdriver. Driver door didn't lock, so anybody could have stolen it if they really wanted. Being in a small town and with it being such a junker, I wasn't too worried.

Color was rust with maroon trim.

Aww, that chokin' ****in' thing...(I later had a non-pony escort with that) about every 6 months it'd start making a racket and hitch, have to spray a little lubricant in there.

My roommate was worried about his vehicle making the 50 mile trip he had to make one day, so he asked if he could borrow mine. He had to leave way early, so I gave him my keys the night before. I woke up later on, headed to class, noticed my car sitting in the driveway running....discovered the door locked, and the passenger locked as well, so he started it, somehow locked the keys in it running, then took his truck to work, left mine running in the driveway. I was pi$$ed at the time, but I laugh now.

1995 Buick LeSabre. It ran great, but the AC and CD player were both shaky (got it used in 2009). It had some of the typical things go wrong that weren't a major deal (just minor electrical stuff), but then I started hearing this low-toned rattle behind me when I was driving. Turns out, the frame was almost totally rusted out and I was one decent bump from having a V8 rammed up my *** on the interstate.

This is too easy. FORD FREESTYLE. It had an "innovative" continuously variable transmission. Problem was, these transmissions were garbage, so they stopped making them. We found that out the hard way. Ours went out 2 years ago and it was going to take over 3 months to get one, so we sold the piece of crap with no transmission. It's the last Ford I'll ever buy.
