We are making the move to a van today, buying a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. We have two kids and our oldest is wanting us to cart friends all over the place with her now. Our mid-size SUV was just getting a bit cramped, and so we decided to...oh my God I'm talking about the utility of a mini van someone kill me now.

Parents' old 1999 Malibu. Right around 160k and still runs like a champ, even with a gas gauge that drops to E after ~100 miles and a slew of dings my brother and I put into it when we were learning to drive.

As of today, I'm the (proud?) owner of a 2000 Toyota Sienna courtesy of my parents.

Hear that about the Spokane streets! Studded tires destroy them so quick.

Is there anywhere else back home (midwest) that still allows studded snow tires? The only good thing is that in the spring your car acts like a slotcar racer on that the grooves are so deep no steering is required.

And my wife drives a 2005 Pontiac Vibe. It's a wonderfully reliable appliance.

LOL

'90 Taurus was the first car I bought out of school. Wasn't cool by anyone's definition. But I loved that car. Comfortable (I'm 6'4") and reliable. Gave me a solid 6-7 years.

Taurus is where it's at, I'm on my second. '95 was fine, can't remember the mileage, no problems over $200 during the four years I had it. Upgraded to a Sable but it died. Got an '05 Taurus and it's like the '95 all over again, on year 5 with no fix over $200. Only a starter, coil, battery and tires. I don't really care what I drive as long as it's comfortable. Plenty of room, I'll probably drive it til it dies because I'd rather pay off loans then furnish my house and I'm not a car guy, just get me from A to B. Only knocks are no audio jack and the gas mileage, I get 16-17 in town and 21-22 highway, though I guess it could be worse. Still worth what I paid for it 5 years ago.

We have two vehicles. A 2013 Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn - dark cherry and gold. And a Jeep Commander. The Commander is the best "winter driver" that I have ever been around (and I've been around a lot of 4X4's) having spent most of my adult life in Montana and NW Iowa.

This is the vehicle that may surplant the Commander.

I just went over 48,000 today on my car. Bought it a year ago with 32,000.

Holy ****, I have put a ton of miles on my car in a year.

My husband puts 50k a year on his company vehicle. I run 30-40K on my car a year. - Make you feel better?
