I just knew they would screw us with the trip to KU. I am sure we will be somewhere in Texas that Saturday just to make it that much harder.

I just wish we could have had our big games when the team is in a routine. I HATE going on the road for Monday games. We have the chance for a really special season and I want every advantage that we can get.

I disagree. Too many times it seems like things don't work out the way you think they will when a game "sets up perfectly".

Monday games suck imo. Two days between games then wait 5 days. Plus only 1-2 days prep for coaches. Wednesday or Tuesday games are much better for fans and coaches. Granted i like the exposure on Mondays on the big stage when there aren't many other games on.

Best I can tell, CBS only carried one Big 12 game last year, which was Oklahoma State @ Kansas in January.

I'd bet we see one of the Kansas/Texas games on CBS.

Which puts the ESPN Gameday game as either KU@Texas, Texas@KU or KU@ISU. Hopefully Kansas won't get stuck with road games for both.

-sigh- People will always find something to complain about. This is a great era in Cyclone basketball, embrace the good times.

Maybe, but you're right. Their slate of games stinks.

Our conference's slate is terribly dependent on Iowa State, Kansas, and Oklahoma being good. The Big 12 has had some stinker Big Monday games over the years, as teams expected to be good have fallen off, which happens. I recall, off the top of my head, the Big 12 going heavy on West Virginia in their first year in the league, Kansas State in 2011 when they were preseason Top 10, and Oklahoma State last year, each of which produced some unforeseen snoozers.

Just goes to show the advantages of a smaller round-robin conference.

I don't know if that's the case for this. They have plenty of marquee matchups to schedule. There's no reason for Georgia Tech to show up, as much as I traditionally liked Georgia Tech.
Even with the larger conference, it's still possible to arrange the games to have the best matchups on Big Monday.

I would bet you are right that the powers that be have those 3 ciricled at this point since the Big Monday schedule is out. My guess is that CBS would lean towards Texas at KU (Allen Fieldhouse, should be 2 highly rated good teams, sounds like OSU last year). Then it becomes does ESPN want to set up shop in Ames or Austin. Bias in me says Ames because if its about environment Hilton wins hands down.

Can't argue with any of the 3 choices though... all should be tremendous games.

Am I biased when I look at that and think we're providing a much stronger Big Monday schedule than the ACC?

I laughed when I read this:

"Virginia is also scheduled against Pittsburgh on February 16, as part of Rivalry Week"

If your marquee billing--during Rivalry Week--is two snoozer teams that have only played 11 times in history...woof, that stinks.
