A parent of a walk-on from ankeny (and Iowa Western CC) was just on Kxno. His son has left the program and transferred to D2 in Mankato State but what was more interesting is that he said there is a definite separation in the locker room and the kids aren't buying CPR and his Ra Ra speeches anymore...

It was bound to happen at some point.

I'm sure the players saw the problems long before we did.

Also, I would think it's about the most awful sign ever that it's starters that aren't buying into it anymore. Usually, it's a situation where the backups are p'd off because of favoritism or they think they're not playing because the coach is an idiot.

CPR managed to have starters quit and not buy into him.

That's pretty rare.

When things aren't going well, people will point fingers or get apathetic. I'm afraid it is happening to the team, a win cures a lot of those evils.

I have no idea if what is said here is true, but I love how a parent of a former walk on "piles on" when the chips are down. I would be so embarrassed if my parents ever did something like this, even if true. I'll put money on it that the caller didn't give his name.

Time for the players to grow a set and be men. There are lots of reasons to play hard and it all starts within themselves.

Would you listen to and believe in your head coach's ra-ra speech after he just set you up to get whooped by UNI and NDSU in consecutive home season openers?

Why would he give his name? When it comes down to it isn't this the type of info people really want to hear? It's like watching a NASCAR race for most people. No one cares until there is a crash. When the Cyclones are clearly on a downward spiral and someone has information about something that could be going on people want to hear it.

The reaction to that information is what's funny to me. There's far too much smoke for there not to be a fire, and it cracks me up that so many people still want to dismiss it and pretend like everything is rainbows and butterflies. Instead of considering the fact that what's being said may actually be true... Let's attack the guy who said it! The human brain is such a complicated machine. People will believe whatever they want to believe in order to avoid a tough reality.
