Gee whiz!

Go back and read what you wrote. You mean a head coach in his 16 year still does not know how to use the talent that he has?

Dude, think about that and what it really says about him.

They are built to win over the long haul..over the course of a 12-13 game season in a run-heavy conference. I think he's made the conscious decision to sacrifice the ability to match up with some schemes outside the conference simply due to the fact that Iowa rarely faces a team that runs an offense like ISU does..outside of Northwestern or sometimes Indiana. Iowa's limitations are very similar to those of ISU. Both schools are in a sparsely populated state that lacks the recruiting numbers that the powers in their respective conferences have. Both schools share the same geographic and weather disadvantages but Iowa has simply won more games than ISU and beaten some very good teams during Ferentz's tenure. I do think Hawkeye fans wish he'd adapt his approach a bit when it comes to certain years, because every few years, he does field a team with the talent to move the ball at will against most teams. It's clear he values execution, field position and ball security more than explosiveness which is typical of a man who spent 10 years in the NFL. Thats my only explanation for it and I don't have to like it either. I'd like to see him adapt a little bit too, but he's stubborn. There's no such thing as the perfect coach.

You would understand what I’m saying if you were more familiar with the makeup of our current roster compared to years past. As far as the conservative nature of our offense, it really can be conservative to a fault, like punting with 7 min left when you’re down 10… That’s his greatest shortcoming as a coach. That doesn’t mean he sucks though.

Punting with 7 minutes to go worked out in the end didn't it? Iowa's defensive line and LBs are pretty tough and BSU didn't score an offensive TD all day.

It kills me the excuses you guys make for him. The team could have negative total yards and you'd still stick up for him.

How is that an excuse? It was the correct decision. No one is making an excuse for those 3 missed FG's or 2 turnovers earlier in the ball game. I'm just saying that down 10 with 7 minutes to go, punting is better than losing field position with 7 minutes to go in the game and risking BSU getting the ball at midfield and having a better chance of scoring again because of a turnover on downs. There's a reason the vast majority of fans are just that..fans.

I'm not talking about a single game.

You have a coach who is in his 16th year and has no idea how to use the good talent that he has on offense. How you can defend that defies sense/logic.

You got three very good running backs, yet he starts a slow full back as your tailback. Did you know your leading rusher though two games is your qb???????? And that's when you got three stud running backs and an average to good O-line.

I could go on and on, but just knowing that his offenses are almost always ranked in the bottom half of the big ten says really all you need to know.

Right. Since most years the team doesn't have the good talent it has now, just pretend you don't have it.

Dude, get a grip. Man, you kf worshipers.

You guys are 3 touchdown talent better than isu this year. Kf has got good talent this year.

It seams you deny he has talent so you can make excuses for his offensive ineptness.

I think Ferentz just keeps to his up bringing. He's an O-line Coach. Of course he likes to control clock, possession, and field position. All line coaches do.... He gets W's, I think more in part to Iowa's tradition than to his inherent skill set. He is a SOLID coach don't get me wrong, but Iowa has the luxury of an easy schedule here and there.

He will always target players that are consistent before explosive because consistency wins out in the long run. He is obviously a fan of statistics, and because of that he has a good record during his reign. He could have made his career in gambling tbh. Just know the odds, and play the right bets.

I have seen you down play ISU's talent so often this year. I would argue they have plenty of potential for talent. Maybe even more so than Iowa. They are young. Give them time.

I've been told by insider sources that ISU wins if they pretend this game is the Super Bowl. I can't reveal my source on the staff because it would get him in trouble, but trust me.

Their starting offensive and defensive lines are all out. Sorry but their d line is probably the best d line we will see all season.
