Even just 1 time out of 5 would be such a drastic improvement from 5 times ever. Just something that indicates a level of respectability. Can't lose to the biggest guys forever if we want to make something of our program.

Exactly. Beating them once every few years, just enough to make their fan base nervous about the game instead of just marking it down as a automatic win before every season.

And also to make ours believe that there's a legitimate chance. Once we can beat everyone on the schedule, those next steps are possible, as opposed to marking it down as an automatic loss ourselves.

This year I would rather beat Baylor. I want to beat OU at home when we are ranked so it won't be considered some huge upset or fluke, but a program making a statement.

How long are you willing to wait? If they don't immediately give it back with a loss the following week, beating OU in Norman this year when a lot of pundits think they have a national championship quality team would make one hell of statement.

Hopefully, not long. Remember this is all in my mind. I don't remember the exact year, but OU just broke one of our better teams. We were ranked, and OU beat us down and the team did not recover. I want that situation, but we win.

Historically, that's never mattered. We don't have any sort of home field advantage here.
I should have replied to a particular post but some posters were referencing that we play them in Norman this season.

Closest I can remember recently is Chizik's first year when AP got hurt. Dang missed FGs! :realmad:

AP got hurt in '06, Mac's last year. He basically ran circles around everyone and hurt himself going into the end zone.

'07 was the year ISU sort of competed for a while.

2002. That team wasn't really that good, but played some way better teams in the 2nd half. OU basically didn't care who Seneca Wallace was. ISU had like 60 yards of offense.
