29 receptions, 392 yards, 13.52 avg, 3TDs, 56 YPG.

He's got nearly as many receptions as Bibbs, and way more yardage. Granted Bibbs draws a crowd to get him singled up, but Lazard has done nothing but get it done this year.

Montgomery oh by the way has 18 catches for 190 yards the last 2 games.

Lazard's definitely the real deal. And kudos to Mangino for knowing how to get the ball to a dynamic playmaker on the outside. That's a foreign concept to Greg Davis.

Lazard is going to be so, so good. The great thing is that you can still see places where he can improve. I just love his attitude and it seems like he has a great work ethic.

I admit that I kind of wondered if he would be as good as advertised. But he has been.

So glad he is here. I think he is going to play on some good teams at Iowa State.

The part I love about the kid is he appears and acts so humble. Catch after catch, he gets up and goes back to the line. He doesn't jaw or talk, he does it with his actions not his mouth. Love this kid already.

It's obvious that he has good parents and other people in his life. They should be proud.

I'm glad that he had enough faith in Iowa State and Rhoads to pick them. Some of our fans could use that same faith.

He's been better than advertised. QB's early injury put him in a high pressure situation and he has responded. The challenge for Mangino next year will be to find a way to get Lazard, Montgomery and Bundrage all on the field at the same time. Someone's going to have to learn to line up in the slot.

I think Bundrage will play a lot in the slot next year. With his speed he can excel there.

Montgomery is only a sophomore, right? Dude is a monster on the outside.

One play I remember well yesterday he was jammed at the line and shucked the corner like he was nothing. That was NFL-like stuff there. He will be a leader of that group next year, even with Bundrage back. What a receiver group with a senior QB throwing to them.

QB
Lazard
PJ Harris
Monty
Ecby
Dondre
Wesley
Medders

And who knows what the rest of that group is going to be like in the wings... Couple that with a couple young TEs that people seem to like.

Add to that the RBs seem to be meshing with the young OL. Mangino is building the philosophy that I guarantee Rhoads is observing to know who to hire when we lose the big man to his next job.

I know, I'm a loser in loving my Cyclones when they are 2-5, but I see a young D that shows brilliance along with the ignorance. And this offense, led by Lazard excites the heck out of me leading into next season in a bowled in Jack.

I think, in part, that is an Iowa kid thing. That's one of the things I love most about Jake Knott.

Jake Knott was mostly raised in Kansas City.

I love Iowa, but Iowa is no better or worse than any other state and the people are no better or worse.

Iowa kids aren't inherently better than kids from other states, no. But I do think the kind of community Lazard grew up in was better for a kid than the communities were for many college athletes. That type of community isn't exclusive to Iowa.

Only complaint about Lazard: He makes difficult plays look easy, and pretty easy plays look difficult.

Walters mentioned that yesterday as well. He occasionally has difficulty with the routine catches.

Our passing zoomed up when Montgomery got on the field.
