Statwise this is worse team than last year.Nope. Not even close.
2003 but this year is close, mainly because we have alot of talent but just dont do anything with it
1-11? Clones were TIED with Iowa 17-17 when Kirk called timeout! Not like Iowa State was trying to TIE the game! This is absolutely a 2-10 team. Thankfully kirk called timeout or it's 1-11
I agree. Anyone here around in those days only had to look at the U of Iowa and how much bigger they looked than us.Saying this is the worst team ever just shows that many of you have no idea what the teams used to be like in the Walden years. We literally looked like a high school team getting off the bus. Sure, we had a few good athletes here and there. But, for the most part it looked like college kids versus high school kids.
1994, 0-10-1, couldn't beat Drake or UNI that year; could only tie a bad OSU FB team; that was the "worst team ever" in my lifetime.
Yeah, my bad. Aging memory, I guess.
Talent wise they aren't the worst. Now coaching...
We did lose to Drake one of those Walden years I think, though.
The truth seems to hurt for most of you. This team looks very comparable to Chizik's two teams. Sad thing is I think this years offense is worse than McFarland's offense.
Also realize that comment was made in 2013. Regardless, we still look as bad as 2008.At least McFarland's teams had good to decent OL's. Put Sam, Lazard, Bundrage, Bibbs behind that OL and a decent play caller, and you would have a pretty stout offense. Say what you want about MM, but his play calling is hamstrung by an OL that cannot consistently run the ball. He didn't recruit any of these guys.
Mid 80's to early 90's. Take your pick

At least we were 6-5 in 88 or 89? Those teams had good OL, TE and RB's and LB's, but no depth on the DL (or size) and the OU and Nebraska wishbones destroyed us on ball control alone. But there was talent on those offenses (Blaise Bryant, Sims, Busch) just not enough talent at QB and WR to take them over the top. But at least we could run the ball. And would have been bowl eligible had that team played 10 years later. After that, the team started a gradual descent that took DMac years to recover from.
