The growth at ISU has been considerable the last 10-15 years but they is also a problem. We now have a bunch of 20 yr fans who have the patience of your typical millennial fan who can't stay off their phone long enough to drive home. Firing your coaches every 2-3 years does not work 90% of the time. When you do have an opening though you have to make very careful decisions. I wonder how many of the fire CPR people were also demanding that we pay whatever he wants three years ago?

You do realize Rhoads has been here 6 years, right? Therefore it wouldn't be "firing a coach every 2-3 years" as you put it.

I'm pretty patient, far from 20, and supported the big raise. I also see complete failure in terms of wins and losses at a level that coaches never overcome, so it's time for a change.

If having fans is a problem, though, then what is the point of the program?

After the iowa game you should be able to get free tickets to the remaining games, so we got that going for us...

I'm wondering if I'm better off just trying to scalp tickets for the late season SEZ games than buying tix there

This is idiotic. ISU is the most patient fanbase in the country. No one has the kind of support we do for the consistently bad football week see.

We've been one of the most patient fanbases in the country. I don't think we have illusions to beat Oklahoma, OSU, etc but losing to Kansas? That Kansas team who were winless and playing for interim coach? And it wasn't just losing, it was how we lost.

Give Rhoads a pass on a losing season for every bowl game he got us to (3). That's all we can really hope for is a bowl season. Not to mention all of the upsets of ranked teams and great speeches he provides.

If CPR can turn this thing around, and I am hoping he does, he will deserve a lot of credit. In my opinion, he needs to create some excitement for the players. We have the south endzone coming get some new uniforms, a new theme song, anything to change the atmosphere around Jack Trice Stadium. They have been awful at home. Those changes may only be cosmetic, but it will show us that there is something changing, whether or not Paul can admit that to himself we will see.

Of course, the real change needs to be personnel. The identification and development of BIg 12 impact players.
He just wanted to feel like how Danny felt when he started the job.

Will wait until the UNI game next year. That will be his superbowl.

Not to mention another pass for being an Iowan. Also, why not another year just because he seems like a good guy? That's another 7 years he just bought himself!

When was the last upset? The last I'm so proud speech? I don't get how people can give a "pass" after going 3-9 last year and 2-8 this year. Well I guess we are just young and inexperienced.

I'd like to see one more year with CPR. I'd be supportive of exploring a new defensive option, as much respect as I have for Wally.

If next year there isn't an improvement, bye bye Paul & Co. Get some new heads in on the defense, and give the young pups some time.

The group of people calling for Paul Rhoads head on a platter now would have tarred and feathered Johnny Orr and ran him out of town when our basketball team won 10 games one year and 12 games the next in his 9th and 10th season at Iowa State.

Johnny Orr's 9th and 10th seasons at ISU.

Orr won a lot of games in the 2nd half of his 2nd down year. Do you understand what that shows? Imporvement. Something we have not seen at all out of Rhoads since 2011.

Does it concern you that all your evidence that you like to use is atleast 10 years old and often the wrong sport?

Again with this? We didn't then and wouldn't now, since Johnny had built a long track record of wins here and at Michigan. We knew he could get the job done in a very different sport, and we knew he had real talent coming in with that Hoiberg kid.

Rhoads doesn't have that track record with his own program, and he's in a sport where coaches that fail like he is do not get things turned around, even to an average level program.
