Part of the reason our shooting % was so poor was the bad shot selection. We took a bunch of long-range 2's which is very unlike a Hoiberg team. Also, it took a ridiculously good shooting night (58%) to beat a mediocre Alabama team the night before.
I have actually noticed this quite a bit this year. The last 2 years, it was extremely rare to see shots from those locations unless we were fighting the shot clock and had to get a shot off. This year, there have been a LOT of shots from 1-2 feet inside the 3 point line. I don't understand it, considering how much Hoiberg has preached about that shot being the lowest payoff shot.
