And to think, i thought peteypie was being to hard on him. Should have been harder on him. He's probably one of those confederate flag waving "south will rise again" guys that describes his racism and prejudice as patriotism.

Well, I'm not so bold as to go that far, although I'd allow for that possibility. Arkansas is 79.9% white, 15.6% black, whereas Iowa is 92.5% white, 3.3% black (according to US census website)...so while I have lambasted him about being racist and from Arkansas, I will allow for a *slight* chance that he is actually black and using the slang N word...but on a fan website of a university in a state that is 92.5% white...no form of it is really acceptable, and it's deplorable to me (admittedly a white man from Iowa) no matter what the spelling or your color.

Thinking about it...Maybe we should just assume he's black. If he's really racist, that's punishment in and of itself.

Your right. For some reason it hadn't occurred to me that he might be black. Although if he were i don't think he would've argued spelling.

He had gone into full jerk mode regardless of using that word. Mentioning him complaining about the refs sent him ballistic for some reason. As others said, they tried to be a full court press substituting hound defensive team and the fouls were still almost even. Silliness.

I'm not defending the little turd, I was merely saying that putting the klan sheet on him may be jumping to unfair conclusions. The fact that he's a turd for using the term at all and a nutjob for his misguided rants on the officials still stand, but let's not hang things on him personally that we don't know when there's plenty of reason to criticise him just on that choice of word and his statements as a whole.

I mean, if I was a betting man, I'd guess that he's white...culturally, but maybe not actively racist...the type of guy who trots out the 'but I'm friends with black people' defense when he says something stupid, but when you press him, the only black people he regularly interacts with are people who are somehow 'below' him (the guy at the gas station, the guy who did my lawn last year, etc.)...but I'm not a betting man, and I don't know him, so lets just say he's a turd for using any form of N word on a likely white demographic'ed website, and a nutjob for his seeming obsession with the refs.

how is one culturally racist, but not actively racist? You're either racist or you're not racist.

Meaning that while someone may personally hold no ill will toward, nor actively participate in persecution of people of another race, on a daily basis they act and/or speak in a manner that treats people of another race inequitably because it's pervasive in the society they live in. And yes, one is either racist or not...someone who is culturally racist is racist and not acceptable, but it's more like the people who simply stood by and didn't say anything while the Nazi's killed the jews...they only deserve contempt, not our punishment.

So, based on the dialogue here, i'm interpreting that you have determined that i must be a racist because i said the n-word, even though it was used in a non pejorative context, similar to the word(s) "dude" or "guy"

Pretty much, yep. Either racist or black. If you're black, you're just horribly tone deaf.

If you're white, there is no non pejorative context, no matter your spelling...at least in Iowa...hence the 'culturally racist' comment. I can keep explaining these things, but I feel like you're not learning them. I suppose the arkansas educational system being what it is, I shouldn't be surprised.

I've used a lot of bad words in my life, but the n-word or any variation has never crossed my lips. I automatically think less of anyone who uses it. And yes (fair or not), I think people that use it are incredibly racist and ignorant.
As far as the actual subject on here goes.....Arkansas is a good team. Arkansas was certainly capable of beating Iowa State if they were playing their best and Iowa State wasn't. I was expecting a close, hard fought game and I would have been thrilled with a 2 point win.

All of that being said, your fans were incredibly ignorant (see a theme here?) when talking about this game. You guys acted like Arkansas was the only team capable of running a fast offense. You guys thought that Georges Niang was at best a 3rd option for a great team like Arkansas. We tried to tell you that running would play right into Iowa State's strengths. We tried to tell you that your pace was unlikely to tire us out. We tried to tell you that Georges Niang is a really, really good player. So I'm sure as hell going to enjoy the fact that you guys were incredibly wrong. What got you back into the game was the fact that Mike Anderson realized that (at least on Thursday night) Iowa State was far better at fast paced basketball. Slowing things down a bit, changing defense (which caused us problems) and forcing the ball inside (when fouls were called on several straight trips down the court) was the key to getting back into the game. You guys also acted like Hilton wouldn't be a big deal and that it would be full because of you. I've got a news flash....Hilton wasn't even close to its best on Thursday. Mainly because it really never was much of a game. I've been more tense playing Mississippi Valley State.

Yeah, and they ignored plenty of fouls on Iowa State. you're just being a homer. Home court advantage is a thing, whether it changed the outcome of the game or not.

Just a head's up that home court advantage is something that ISU fans think only everyone else gets when ISU goes on the road or someone that ISU fans don't like plays at home.
